Day 7, Thursday December 11th
The cast
Me, Erika, 34, Disney obsessed for as long as I can remember
DH, Steve, 36, extremely tolerant of my obsession, loves Disney vacations
DS, Matthew, 10 ½, loves Disney World, tried many new things this trip
DD, Alexa, 7 (almost 8), as Disney crazy as I am
Today was our day to plat catch up at MGM, see what we missed and get a last ride on RNR. We walked to path over from the hotel and went straight to RNR. It was past opening time, so it wouldnt have surprised me to find a line. It said 5 minutes, so the 4 of us got in line. Dd was a pro at this time about going to the gift shop through the chicken exit, she was excited to do this, silly kid. I tell ya, I love this ride, I can not just get enough. I had a killer headache when I got off this time, but its so worth it. When we got done the wait had jumped to 35 minutes, so we grabbed a fast pass. At this point dh convinced ds to ride Tower of Terror for the first time. He was quite nervous but he agreed. He was such a big kid this time around, he conquered all of the big rides this trip, I was so proud. They had really cute pin with a sliding elevator that I told him Id buy him if he rode, so dd and I headed to the gift shop to buy the pin. She wants nothing to do with this ride, and didnt care much for the exit area either, too many spooky sounds. They got off just as I was paying for the pin, and he loved it. We headed over to the Little Mermaid since we didnt get to this on our other day here. This was our longest wait of the trip. The next show didnt start for almost 30 minutes, and only a couple people were in line ahead of us. We got in line to wait, and watched all the tons of fast pass people go in. The line behind us grew extremely long, I couldnt believe people would get in a line that long, when they could get a fast pass for the next show. There was no way all these people would get in, after the ton of fast pass people they let in first. Finally we got to go in, but Im sure more than half those people were left outside. When the show was done, it was back for our fast pass, and our final trip on RNR for this trip. That always makes me sad. My headache had gone away from our last ride, but quickly came back LOL. I dont care, its soooooooo worth it. We grabbed some lunch and dd wanted to go on the Great Movie Ride again. This surprised me, as she didnt seem too thrilled by it on the last ride. We could see the people wrapped way back in the waiting room, but decided to try to wait anyway. Much to our surprise, we started walking into the line and never stopped until we were almost to the entrance door. It was really weird, but great. We went to see One Mans Dream when we were done, I had been really wanting to see this. It always fascinates me that one mans idea basically changed the world. The movie was so fascinating, but too short. I remedied this by purchasing a 2 hour DVD movie about Walt before we left the park. Dd now wanted to do the backlot tour again, but the line was tooo long. Instead we let them run around the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Im so glad they are old enough that we can just let them run free in there. Dh and I walked around and watched all the panicked looking parents, who were running around trying to find their kids. The kids had been begging to have one of those pics done where they stand in front of the green screen and get put in a digital pic so we gave in. They had a really cute Finding Nemo pic done, its adorable. Another check on the backlot line, and it was still too long. We wandered by where the Monsters Inc characters do their meets, and they were due back in 5 minutes. We lined up behind a couple of people already there to wait. When it was time, they told us we had to move to the other side of the area. A woman walks up at this point, hears this and decides she will now be first. The people waiting in front of us, told her we had all been waiting for awhile, and she would not go in front of us, so we went in first. She was not happy! We grabbed a snack and strolled around New York Street and took some photos and headed back towards the front. As always there was no line for Star Tours, so dh and ds went for a last ride. We did a little shopping and headed for the boat dock. Our quick catch up trip at MGM, and we ended up staying till 4:15. This was very common this trip. Back at our room we played the whats for dinner game and decided to try to ESPN club. We were very pleased. The food we ordered was great, and we loved the atmosphere, and the kids got little toys to entertain themselves and they got to keep them. After dinner we found a juggler in our lobby. This guy was a riot! We only caught the end of his show, but he was so funny. He said a magician would be in soon, so we took our stuff upstairs and came back down for the magician. Instead we found a cowgirl, who let the kids (and dh) try rope twirling and made them shout I wanna be a cowboy(girl). She was the sweetest lady and after her show, talked with people while the kids all played with her ropes, and then posed for some pics. When she left, the juggler came back. We found his name was Randy and he had both of my kids try some tricks with him. This guy is so quick witted, he had has laughing the whole time. We took a pic of him and the kids when he was done, what a great guy. That was it for the night, it was time for some relaxing in the room, which we did very little of this trip. I realized it was Thursday, so I watched ER, so Id have one less recorded show to catch up on when we got home. Then we needed to get some sleep, we were having breakfast at Cape May Café in the morning with a friend of mine.
