Disney hotel versus normal hotel versus villa?

You really have to decide what is important to you and your family.

We are going for our third trip, we will be staying in a four bed villa.

We cannot spend 2 weeks in one room, I cannot justify the cost of a 2 bed on site.

Part of our holiday is visiting "America" so we like to go shopping, try different foods and while we like eating out some nights with three small children I really don't fancy sitting in a restaurant with them, I want to serve them a bowl of pasta, throw the dishes in the washer and then send them to bed.

I like doing my washing, coming home with clean clothes and not to 5 bags of washing, plus with only 3-4 changes of clothes I have lots of space for shopping. I don't miss the housekeeping, we pull up our beds and hang our own towels up no biggie and I don't need to tip the kids either for doing it.

We can't do all day at the parks, the kids and hubby and I wouldn't survive. We know our limits. We are there for opening and then head away around 2.30 - 3.00 for swimming at the villa. We will do the odd late night but generally we try to stick to our kids normal routine as it stops them from getting cranky and therefore us cranky.

We did spend our last night at the Polynesian on our last trip which was a nice change but no one went to sleep on time, (except the adults who ended up earlier than normal due to trying to get the kids to sleep) my eldest has eczema and often wakes scratching and moaning which wakes everyone up and no one gets a sleep in as the littlest makes it know she is awake to everyone.

All that said those things apply to OUR FAMILY and this is what works the best for our family.

Last trip the kids and hubby got 14 day tickets and purchased an annual pass, which we used for discounts around the park and got the parking included. Need to do a comparison for this trip to see if it is worth while to do that again.

Good luck with your decision making, what ever you do though once you make a decision don't second guess it all the time, all you do is end up with a head ache. :)
