we are staying offsite this trip at Windsor hills. We have a rental car for the week. There is one day where we are going to Epcot. There are a bunch of things I know my daughter will love, but my son won't like them and won't last all day (he has autism). We could get a cab, but instead of paying cab fare I was thinking a better option might be for my hubby to take our son back to the condo for a swim and to hang out, and he could pick us up later. I guess parking is free same day reentry, so he could drive right up to the gates to pick us up? I thought a better idea might be for DD and I to take a Disney bus or the monorail to the closest Disney hotel to out condo, and dh could pick us up there with less hassle. Wondering what would be closest for him? I don't mind it being a hassle for dd and I, but I want to make it easy on dh.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is the closest. You could meet there after touring and all walk around and see the animals. The resort is beautiful!

Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House is just a few minutes' drive from Windsor Hills. I agree that you could have your DH park there and he and your DS could come in and you could view the animals and look around the resort. You might even consider a meal there as Boma and Sanaa (Sanaa is actually in Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village, a 10min walk from AKL) are two of our favorites. Or The Mara is a quick service restaurant at AKL. You and your DD will just need to take the bus from EP to AKL/AKV (Kidani is the 1st stop and AKL-Jambo is the 2nd stop).

Uber is an option too. We stayed at Windsor, tell Dave hello from up north! We've recommended many families and they loved it. The town house is amazing. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, they have kids needs for bed, eating and stroller. It's really, really close to the park. The exit after the last road to the resorts is the Windsor Hills exit. They have a new Frozen Condo too. I loved having a washer dryer in the townhouse we had. That is a real vacation for me, having all the room and Disney themed for the kids and grandkids.

On our last trip, DH and younger DS wanted to stay at MK and watch the fireworks. Older DS, my sister and I were ready to go back to Windsor Hills but we only had one rental car. The three of us took the bus to AKL. We looked around a little, saw a few animals (not many since it was dark), got some drinks in the gift shop, then went out front to get a cab. The valet called one for us and it was a quick ride to Windsor Hills. We figured it would be less expensive than taking a cab all the way from MK, plus we got to see some of the resort. DH and younger DS had the car when they left MK. Worked out nicely!
