Disney Honeymooners ....

We are so excited about our honeymoon!! This will be like my 5th time going and her 3rd. Everyone thinks we are crazy for going there again but we just love it so much. After all it is where I proposed. We are staying at the CBR which is where we stayed last time. We enjoy the atmosphere that we get for a moderate resort. We choose Disney because we both love it so much. I think the thing we are looking forward to the most is just getting away for awhile and relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We hope to do a few character dinners along with some nice romantic dinners as well.

What's a lavendar bath? That sounds nice and relaxing! Do you get champagne with that??? :p

My honeymoon is already over, but I just couldn't help but want to participate in this thread. :teeth:

We split our stay between a honeymoon room at the GF, a garden suite at the BWI, and one night at Pop Century to check out the new resort.

For us there just wasn't another choice besides Disney. I love going there so much that I can't imagine having honeymooned anywhere else.

I was probably most looking forward to our honeymoon suites, and DH was most excited about seeing Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba.

We had a WONDERFUL time! ::yes::

:wave2:

We had our honeymoon in WDW too. We couldn't afford a Disney wedding and we definetly couldn't afford to fly down all our guests. So opted to have our honeymoon in WDW.

It was WONDEFUL! We stayed at the WL, then went on the Disney Wonder then to the Dolphin after the cruise. There truly is no other place like it for a honeymoon, DH and I are so glad we decided on Disney.

We had such a wonderful time, (everyone there were SO nice and sweet to us), for our 1 year anniversary, we went back again! :lovestruc

Good luck to all the brides and honeymooners of Disney...and CONGRATULATION!!!

xoxo:cutie:

Chris and I are doing the Disney Land and Sea Honeymoon package. We have also added an extra night to the "land" part. We are staying at the Polynesian Resort. A good friend of mine worked there and highly recommeded it to us.

Picking Disney for our Honeymoon was easy. We got engaged there, I am a store employee and Disney has been a big part of my life and our relationship. I can't image my honeymoon taking place anywhere else!!

Here is a question I am sure has been asked a million times...how do you put the countdown clock in your text?

I have been a Disney lover since age 6 (and so has RD). We are in our 40's but only 17 at heart. We will be doing about 4 days at the GF....probably a nice view of the lagoon hopefully. I have stayed at many of the Disney hotels but not the GF. I love the ambience there! We will be getting married in Ohio because both of my boys want to be at the wedding (this will be both our 2nd marriages). They want to walk me down the aisle to boot! How cute is that...??!!! :)

We will follow up our stay at the GF with 7 days in Hawaii. Neither of us have ever been but have always dreamed of going.
I am SO excited.

What am I most looking forward too? Just being alone w/my new husband....sharing a glass of wine watching the fireworks somewhere from the lagoon or a balcony....laying on a hammock together.....walking hand in hand thru the parks wearing our t-shirts that proudly say "just married to my best friend" on them....having quiet dinners at great restaurants...dancing anywhere for no reason at all (we do this all the time)....and just being thankful everyday for the truly awesome loving wonderful man I have been fortunate for god to bring into my life. I was married to a man before for over 15 years that was abusive so I really know I have been given a gift in my new husband to be and my boys absolutely ADORE him. My oldest son the other day just said to me out of the blue "Mom, RD is the dad I always wanted but never had"...(son is 12+) I had to look away to keep from crying. Yes, folks....life IS good....:)

Hi, we're not getting married at WDW because it would mean that we could only have a few guests as we're from the UK and it's really important to us that all our family and friends are there. We're staying 12 nights at the Polynesian, after extensive research on the net, it looked the most romantic. WDW is my favourite place on Earth and I'm so excited already. After that we're having 7 nights at Atlantis in the Bahamas to relax, before my new husband returns to work. LOL I will have another 2 weeks off when I return cos I'm a teacher.:Pinkbounc

HI, FDH and I are also having a Disney Wedding!
Having a Disney wedding wasn't something that I've always wanted, but something that I came upon purely by accident.

We were engaged in October 2003, and not wanting to be an over anxious bride, I was low key about all the wedding planning until December when my sister and I were at a travel agent to plan our upcoming trip to Italy! (In actuality, the plans to go to Italy were already in the works before the proposal). Anyway, While at the travel agent I picked up a few brochure's of some places that I would want to honeymoon. DF and I decided that it would be someplace that neither one of us had visited before, so I knew that both Disney World and Land were out of the question, as would be Disney land Paris, (my sister and I are going there after her graduation) I thought about the Sandals resorts. As I was reading about the resort, I saw that they offer free weddings. I thought..WOW! So we thought about having a wedding there. But then came the factor of who we wanted to be there and how much it would cost for our guest. (most packages are all inclusive) We knew this would be out of the question because of the cost! SOOOOO, Thats when I suggested a Fairytale Wedding!!! I had saw this ad in on of those honeymoon brochures that I got at the travel agencey. We thought this option would be more economical for our guests because they can customize their own vacation, stay where they want, how long they want....you get the idea! So anyway, We talked to our closest friends and family to see what they thought. They were all wonderfully supportive. The hardest part was just getting all the information.... I must say...Travel Agents know very little about Disney Weddings, (despite what the bottoms of the ads may say "see your travel agent about booking a fairytale wedding). 99.9% of the info I found came from all you on the net, and a huge thank you to Andrea!!! You are the best !!

So anyway......We are on our way to Disney with 18 of our closest friends and family.

We are staying at POR...... The reason....... Well, The last time I was at WDW, I was with my parents and the resort was called "Dixie Landings" I remember seeing the Beautiful Mansions as we took the ferry to DTD. I thought they were some Historical Mansion...(silly me, I didn't realize that it was a resort).
Where we were going to stay was a big issue in our Honeymoon/Wedding planning. Since we were already going to WDW and I HAVE been there before and DH HASN'T, I at least wanted to stay at a resort that I have never stayed in before. I did not want to stay at any of the Value resorts (no offense to anyone who is, but I wanted more of a romantic feel to the room since it is our honeymoon), This is not only DH and I's honeymoon, it will also be the first vacation that we ever went on together! Okay, back to the resorts.... I have stayed at the Contemorary, and many of the moderate resorts. When I was doing research on the resorts, I realized that POR was the old Dixie Landings, I immediatley knew that we had to stay there. I was even more amazed when I found out that it was a moderate resort.....Yippeee, I couldn't believe it! So POR it is.
Since we are going to be there in value season and getting a better rate on the room, DF asked if I wanted to upgrade to a delux resort, (Maybe Yacht Club). I said "No WAY". Once DH see's what WDW is all about, I envision us returning many, many times. Since we have the added expenses of our wedding this trip, I will save the Delux resort to a future trip when we do not have the added expenses of a wedding, or treating our guests to expensive dinners and what not!
I have always been "PRO DISNEY" I would reccomend a WDW vacation to everyone. Evertime it was my turn me choose our family's vacation, you can guess what my choice was. This didn't always make my sister too happy. But I agree with the other poster who said where else can you go and see 11 countries...(or something like that). I HAVE been to many countries (my sister and I like to travel) and am planning a trip to Italy, and France (DL Paris) this summer. I have been to WDW in FL several times, and I am more excited to go back there than I am about my trip overseas....September can't get here soon enough!
WDW truely is the Happiest Place on earth!!!! Pretty soon DF will find out why!

Sorry about such a long post. And congrats to all you future brides out there, and all you brides who are now Newlyweds!

hi everyone..I am new to this entire discussion idea...but I got so excited when I saw this posting. I love any opportunity to talk about my wedding.

We aree getting married in upstate NY on October 16th at 10:30. We decided to go to disney for our honeymoon because that is where we got engaged in June. It was so sweet...sunset in Magic Kingdom. We will be staying 6 nights at the AKL and then going on a 4 day cruise...I am so excited...

Good luck to everyone.

Where are you staying?: We stayed at ASmo in Dalmatian section as per my request due to my loving Dalmaians and everything Disney.

Why did you choose Disney?: My DH and I had been wanting to go to WDW, and booked a trip for November 2002. I got a ring for XMAS 2001 and we decided instead of taking even more time off work we'd simply postpone honeymoon a month after wedding and use trip to Disney as honeymoon. WE loved it and are going back for our second annv.

What are you most looking forward to?:
The simply magical carefree feeling WE get while being at Disney. Spending time with my DH in one of our favorite places.
