It's been so long since I've been here! I was ScrapperKimmyD, but don't remember my password and no longer have that email address. Anyhoo...
I'm getting married and we'd like to go to Disneyland for 2 or 3 days (travel 3/29-4/1 or 4/2). However, this is just a little honeymoon - going to do a cruise later when we can both get more time off. So, I'm looking for the cheapest way possible to go.

Would you recommend a certain package deal or use something like Kayak for hotel and buy tickets through...Costco?

I'm very excited...haven't been to the Land since 2011 and that trip wasn't what it should have been. Can't wait to take my new hubby since he's never been!

I would still recommend going through Disney directly for tickets, just purchase them ahead of time. You can get a hotel on kayak or somewhere else if it seems like it will be cheaper. I know I checked Costco prices once and they only have 4 or 5 day tickets available.

For the first several trips I always booked a package. This was before I found the DisBoard.

I have learned the way to swing a trip to Disneyland for the least amount of $$$$ is DIY.
Shop around for airfare, hotel and tickets. Check back often for price reductions.
If staying on Harbor Blvd, book a room early.

Enjoy the mini-honeymoon.

We went to DL on our honeymoon, too :) It was wonderful!

As Geemo said, DIY (do it yourself) is really the cheapest way to go...

For a "cheap" trip, GetAwayToday.com has a 4-night hotel, and 3-day Park Hopper ticket for about $1300.

For the DIY person, $1300 will buy:
2 4-day tickets (Orbitz.com buy-3-get-4-day Park Hopper ticket): $530
4-nights Desert Inn and Suites: $591 (across the street from the pedestrian entrance!)
2 RT tickets for airport/hotel on Disneyland Resort Express $70
Total: $1191... which includes the transportation to/from the hotel/airport, which the GAT package doesn't, *plus* an extra day in the park if you want it!

Okay, thanks! ...I'm checking it out...

Motel 6 Anaheim Maingate, 4 nights, from the Motel 6 site, $409
3 day tickets, 1 park/day, from Disney.com, $452

Is that hotel really by the maingate like the name suggests?

We'll probably drive, unless we find killer flights.

I checked with Dreams Unlimited, but the quote they gave me was for more nights than I asked for, so I can't compare their price just yet.

DH and I recently stayed at the Castle Inn and Suites which is very walkable and our other go to place is Super 8 on Katella as well. We typically can get either around 60-90 a night on Orbitz and promo codes apply to Castle Inn and Suites which was recently renovated. The Super 8 was also but is a farther walk however for your dates it runs about $70/night and has free wifi and parking and a quick grab and go breakfast like pastries , juice , yogurt , frozen waffles , etc. It's also right next to the Garden Walk which is nice.

Hope this helps too !

I just booked Travelodge for 50/night. Looks like I can get 3 day park hoppers for 260, but I'm still looking for the best ticket deal.

How much is parking these days? I'm guessing it's too far to walk from Travelodge.
