I meant to post this before we left, but with our wedding, and our closing on our new home I got a little distracted and forgot to post it so here it is now. Best Part is I get to post pictures that show what our wedding looked like

Who is in our Party? Mike(Disney Groom), and Sherri(Disney Bride)

Travel Dates: November 29th – December 6th we are flying Jet Blue

Accommodations: We are staying at a Savannah View Room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Rental Car: We are renting a car for the first time ever, we rented a midsize from Dollar.

Advanced Dining Reservations: November 30th: Hoop De Doo Revue 7:15PM show, December 1st: Boma, December 2nd: Le Cellier Candlelight Processional, and December 4th: California Grille

Wedding: We got engaged on December 13th, 2008 on the Bench right next to Sunshine Terrace in Adventureland. We have been planning a Disney wedding since that moment. While we did not want to get married on property as we are both from Massachusetts we wanted to get married there surrounded by our family and friends. We are still going to make sure to get all the touches of Disney that we can into our wedding.

1. Sherri will be wearing a Mickey Garter Belt
2. Mickey’s head is silhouetted on our Ring Bearer’s Pillow
3. Our Invitations incorporated a custom designed logo that included the three circles to make up Mickey’s head

Day One

Adventurers:

Sherri(Disney Bride) – Sherri has been to Disney many times, including three times in the last year and a half.

Mike(Disney Husband)- Mike has been to Disney over 20 times with his family and with Sherri.

The alarm went off extra early for a Saturday, we had been married for a week and had spent the previous week striping wall paper from our new house. Luckily my parents live right down the street so we have a place to stay and it is easy to get home. We were still sore from all the work though but we both managed to get out of bed and into the shower by 5:30 AM.

At 6:00 our ride showed up. Sherri’s cousin Ed has his own car service Martini Motor coach and he had volunteered to drive us in so my father could sleep in. We made good time to the airport there is no easier time to drive into Logan airport that first thing in the morning on a Saturday we hardly saw another car on the road. Ed dropped us off at Terminal C and we headed inside to the Bag Check.

We always take Jet Blue, we love the snacks and the TV and they tend to have the best prices. Manchester and Providence are just a little too far away for us to make the trip to for Southwest. Checkin was easy and we breezed through security to our gate. Our flight was scheduled to leave around 8, so we stopped at the Boston Beer Works for Breakfast. It wasn’t spectacular but it was a full meal and better than any of the other options. We love the Beer Works near us in Salem so we were probably a little bit biased but if you are stuck in Logan terminal C stop by there it is worth it.

We made our way over the gate and they announced that our flight would be delayed for about a half an hour the plane wasn’t at the right gate and they were going to need to Tow it over. There were a ton of kids on our flight most of them were running around probably breaking TSA rules while we were at the gate, luckily thanks to headphones and ear plugs I didn’t hear a peep out of them on the way to Orlando. We finally boarded the plane about 45 minutes late and took off.

It was an extremely smooth flight, at this point we would normally head over to magic express but since we were there 8 days and on our honeymoon we had decided to rent a car. So we headed over to the dollar counter where after the lady wrestled with the printer we got a Dodge Avenger. I am Pooh sized so we wanted to make sure to get something a little bigger since I would be driving all week. It was a comfortable car in good shape, it had a nice engine out under the hood and even though it took me all week to get a grasp on the turn signals it was good for what we paid.

We hooked up our Garmin GPS that had traveled in our carryon and were on our way to the World. Our first stop was going to be at Downtown Disney. Sherri wanted to make sure that she had on her Minnie Wedding ears when we checked in just in case they decided to be extra nice to us and upgrade us to Concierge. The world of Disney was our first stop where we picked up the ears, and then we stopped at Earl of Sandwich. We love Earl, we are always hoping that they would open one near us. I had the Meatball Sub while Sherri got the Special Holiday Turkey Sandwich which she said was very good.

With our lunch eaten and Sherri’s ears purchased we headed over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to Check on. While we did not get upgraded to Concierage they did give us a Savannah View room that we did not pay for which was very nice. We changed our clothes and headed over to the Magic Kingdom.

By now it was almost 2 o’clock. We headed over to the ticket booth to activate our Annual Passes. I have always dreamed about getting an Annual Pass and I was very disappointed once we did. It’s just another regular ticket it at the least should be hard plastic, I know mine is going to end up going through the wash at some point. At this point we were dying to go on a ride but we made sure to stop and pick up new lanyards we had left our other pins at home and were always looking for a reason to get new ones.

After picking up some Annual pass holder pins we made our way to the TTA. It was crazy busy and we actually had to get into a line to get on, it was a short wait though. After the TTA we got some Smart water which we love and walked through Fantasyland, and Frontierland and went and saw the Tiki Birds in Adventureland. Since it was only our first day we mainly stuck to people watching. We enjoyed a cookie and an ice cream at Sunshine tree terrace where we got engaged last December.

We kept it short on our first day and rode the bus back to our hotel and got our car to make a run to walmart for snacks and waters that would cost so much more if we went to the gift shop. After exploring a little we ended up at Steak and Shake which we love, our friend Susan who works at Animal Kingdom had introduced us to it the previous year. After that we dragged ourselves back to the room and were asleep by Ten so we could make sure to get up early and go to Disney Hollywood Studios.
