Disney honeymoon - gift list

Hello all,

I'm getting married in the UK on 24th August and having our honeymoon in Disneyworld staying at the Yacht club for 18 days. We are currently trying to sort out our gift list. We moved in to a new flat last year and have mostly everything we wish to have. We are now wondering if we should ask for some money towards the honeymoon if people wish to give something.

Has anyone else had their honeymoon in Disneyworld and asked for a contribution to their honeymoon for a gift? If so, which website did they use (if any)?

I've looked at that for our Disneymoon. The downside is that they charge a fee that either comes out of the gift people give or is added on top of what the guest gives as a gift.

I just set up our honeymoon registry today. I did it with our travel agency website which offers the service free of charge. They make a really cute little page for us. Here is the link if you want to see what we did with it.

I think it's a great idea since we are in the same boat as well, not really needing anything for our house etc.

We're doing the website, but as said before they charge a service fee. So what I'll also suggest is guest getting disney gift cards which can also be used.

I looked at the websites but didn't like that they charge a fee! So what I did instead was register at Target and only put on there Disney Gift Cards. This way you or your guests aren't paying extra! The gift cards can be used to pay for just about anything and everything at Disney

We opened a registry through our travel agent, they didn't charge anything. (I'm in New Zealand)

We're also having a wishing well for anyone who doesn't want to put money into the travel agent register. I'm not sure about over there, but here it's quite common for guests to give cash on the day.

So long as this information is given only when requested, and not forced upon people such as including it in an invitation, there is nothing wrong at all with asking for money for your honeymoon. (You invite people to weddings, not gifts. And suggestions should only be offered when someone asks.)
