It's almost time for Disney Homeschool Days at Epcot!!!
Anyone going ?
Anyone registered for a Y.E.S. program?
Could anyone who has been this past Sept. tell me what it will be like?

Only 28 days left and we'll be on our way to the World:cloud9:
We will be attending homeschool days both Mon. and Tues. and doing the Ocean Discoveries program and Everyday Chemistry. Anyone done these before?:goodvibes

I'm so excited to have found this program! We are just getting the admission tix with the speaker series, which is plenty for us,never been before, but it sounds so great! I can't wait to get my booklets for asking questions and learning more about the cultures.....

Yes, we are going.

I think we signed up for only Monday to hear the speaker though. Our kids are very young and really we can do most of the learning/teaching ourselves.

Down the line we will do the added stuff. We may even head back this September if it is offered! ;)

I am really excited. We added the DQ and WP too and my kids have never done those.

We're so excited too!!! I wish we got our booklets in the mail before arriving so we could learn more before going.
I wonder how many people attend?

:) Hi Dawn, I don't know if you noticed, but it's me from the Homeschool List thread~Amy in Asheville.
We are going to try to go back in Sept. if offered also~~~can't pass up those prices!!!

Could you give me more information on it? Sounds great, if they do it again in late Septmeber I'd love to go!

www.disneyhomeschooldays.com is the official website. It gives you the prices, which are incredible and info on the homeschool days. They did it this past Sept. and we are hoping they will do it again this coming Sept., although I think I will love Jan. because of the weather!!!

Yes, I did recognize you.....just posted for others.

I have 2 homeschool friends I talked to today who said they will go if it is offered in September! So, we will go back too!

We are not going to be able to go to Homeschool Days in January, but DD did the Ocean Discoveries YES program on Nov. 27 with a homeschool group from our state. She is 16 and was the oldest one, but the ages ranged from 6 - 16. She really loved it. The CM's were very nice and interesting, and involved the kids. They learned about dolphins, turtles, manatees and sharks. At the end of the class they got a pin.

I wish we could go! I'm due in January so we won't be able to make it, but we hope to attend one of the homeschooling events in the future. Have fun!

Only a few more days to get your tickets! Anyone else going to the Homeschool Days?

Anyone going to any of the programs?

Welll, we aren't going for the homeschooling days, but we'll be there that week. I'm a teacher and we are pulling our kids out of school for the trip- a long story behind our trip but we are doing it and can't wait. Anyway, are there special days/ events for you all throughout the parks and will this affect crowd levels very much. I've never heard of these days, but it does sound very cool for homeschoolers and their famalies. I tried the link to send to a friend who homeschools, but it wouldn't work. Thanks and lets all hope for great weather!!!:goodvibes

That's great about your trip! It's coming up soon:cool1:

The Homeschool Days takes place at Epcot only, and there is speaker each day (the 14th and 15th) in the Norway Pavillion. The first day it is an attraction and show engineer from WDW (can't recall his name at the moment) The second day is an international speaker from the world showcase. Then there are interactive behind the scenes programs Disney puts on. We are doing a couple of those. Ocean Discoveries and Everyday Chemistry. They are 3 hours long and really educational and interactive and we are very excited about them!
I don't know how it will affect crowd levels. It has to increase crowds slightly at Epcot especially those two days, but I have no idea how many people actually attend. I wouldn't worry about it though. If you are going the same week we are, the 14-18, then the crowds should be pretty low with marathon weekend before that week and MLK after that week:)
Hopefully the weather will be great too, not too cold, not too hot:goodvibes

Did you try this link... www.disneyhomeschooldays.com ?
