Not sure where to post this, but we are thinking of booking here for 2 to 3 nights for a beach stay on our way home from Disney in July.

Would love to hear opinions or advice on where to stay at Hilton Head:)

If you are not a DVC its nearly impossible to stay here in the summer. My guess is that it's completely booked at this point. If its not, its a nice resort but its not on the beach. They do have a beach club that it is though. The island is small and mainly condos, its very family oriented. Of the hotels there are only 5 that are beachfront. The westin, omni, crown plaza, marriott and holiday inn. I have stayed at all except the marriott. My favorite is the westin, then omni (currently going through a multimillion $ refurb), the crown plaza then holiday inn. I love the westin for its location and had a great customer service experience there. ( my son spiked a fever about 3 am, when i called to see where the nearest drug store was, they got security to open the gift shop and brought me the tylenol. Also i was never charged for it(probably a mistake). The omni has kitchenettes which are nice and i'm interested to see what the remodel will be like. Overall i love the island and highly recommend it to anyone. Oh and I dont love the holiday inn because its right beside the public beach and gets really busy.

its a nice resort but its not on the beach.

this sums up a lot of opinions about the resort. it's nice but location is subpar and there are no theme parks within walking distance that would justify a premium price...

As much as we love Disney we never stay at Disney Hilton Head. When we go to Hilton Head we like to stay right on the beach. We stay at either the Marriott or the Westin. Tough for a Disney lover, but I love sitting on our balcony and looking at the beach and the ocean,.

I really appreciate the responses. I did not know that the resort wasn't on the beach so that is a deal breaker for us. My DD has never been to the ocean since we always vacation at Disney. Since we are driving, we plan to stop on our way home for a 2 to 3 night stay. I will check into some of the places NicoleLarson has suggested.

Thanks again!
