Hi Everyone! :)

What is there to do at Disney HH?

Do they have surrey bike rentals?

How do you get to the beach while staying there?

Can you swim in the pools in November or is it too cold?

Are there elevators for coming down from room or only stairs?

Do you get a balcony or porch with the studio size?

Is it true there is no dining on the property?

Anyone actually been there in November?

What is there to do at Disney HH?
HHI has an abundance of wildlife. We like to take eco tours, dolphin tours, ride bikes, and just relax. We're not into nightlife or restaurants, but HHI has plenty of both.

Do they have surrey bike rentals?
I don't recall seeing people riding surreys, but I don't know for sure.

How do you get to the beach while staying there?
It is about 1.5 mi. So you can walk, ride bike, drive, take DVC transport.

Can you swim in the pools in November or is it too cold?
Yes. Pool will be 82 degrees. It's the getting out that will be hard.

Are there elevators for coming down from room or only stairs?
Only the lodge building has elevators. All the villa building have stairs only.

Do you get a balcony or porch with the studio size?
Yes, all dvc units everywhere have a balcony.

Is it true there is no dining on the property?
Yes, but plenty of restaurants just a two minute walk away.

Anyone actually been there in November?
We have only been there in the summer months.

What is there to do at Disney HH?
Relax by the pool, head to the beach, ride a bike, join in the scheduled activities (magic show, scavenger hunt, etc) make s'mores at campfire, chat with CMs, hunt for hidden Mickeys

Do they have surrey bike rentals?
No, just regular bikes

How do you get to the beach while staying there?
We always took the DVC shuttle, but driving and biking are good too

Can you swim in the pools in November or is it too cold?
Never been there in November, but Mike the lifeguard told us that the hot tubs get more use than the pools after October

Are there elevators for coming down from room or only stairs?
Only Stairs, about 8-10 for a 1st floor villa

Do you get a balcony or porch with the studio size?
Yes, and it's a nice sized balcony with rockers

Is it true there is no dining on the property?
Only quick serv.... but dining on the island is fabulous, great restaurants just a short ride away

Anyone actually been there in November?
Not me, but the Janelle, a CM told us they are at about 50-70% capacity in the "off-season"

LOL ......That's real cute. :lmao: I guess if you get in the pool you just don't get out until spring. hehe :)

There is a beach house I read. So, when you go over to the beach that is where the beach house is at and you can change clothes there or is it used for other?

Also, is there classes on property?
Cooking, craft etc? I could send my husband to the cooking one I thought.
LOL ...just kidding.

Yes, they have bathrooms, showers, I think lockers too. Also have pool, fastfood grille, (as does the resort which I forgot to mention). I don't know about adult classes.

No adult classes at this time. There used to be some cooking classes (more demonstrations, actually) when Chef Gordon was doing programs.

One time last summer, we did the Lowcountry Boil and there was someone there to teach us how to Shag. DH and I really enjoyed that, but I don't think they do that anymore. :sad2:

There are lots of kids' and family activities, but not much in the way of activities just for adults. Might be something to put on the comment card after our next stay!

I think the occupancy really fluctuates during the off-season. One year, we stayed through the Sunday after Thanksgiving to avoid the driving mess. We were told that the resort was at capacity for Thanksgiving, but was down to under 10% by the time we left!

Re your ? about Nov weather...we have been to HHI in each of the past two years and have experienced a combination of good and not so good weather.

We stay during the first week of Nov and have enjoyed a few warm days, a few cool days, a few sunny days and a few cloudy days - and all combinations thereof. I can only recall 1 or 2 days of rain in the total of the 12 days we have been there. The weather has never been so bad as to make us think about not going at that time.

The summer crowds are gone, there are shopping sales galore and there is rarely a wait to get a seat in a restaurant - except maybe Signe's at lunchtime. We don't golf so I can't offer any info on course tee times.

Took my 4 brothers and 3 friends on a golf trip early in November a few years ago. We had 4 days of wonderful weather. Sunny and in the low 70's each day and cooler nights. It was a wonderful trip! Great golf, great food and great group of guys to travel with.
