Any suggestions --- this will be our 1st stay at Disney Hilton Head! Do the CM's do pin trading? What other can't miss things are there to do? Thanks and Go Vols!

Depending on the ages of the people going - many of the resort activities are great. Anything with B'Lou Crabbe is good, the campfire is fun, and my DS10 loves all the "meet the naturalist" classes. We always rent bikes and enjoy biking while we're there. The hightlight of our trip (for the adults) is enjoying wonderful meals in HH. There are so many great places to eat. And if Chef Gordon offers any activities - sign up for those. We've never been lucky enough to attend any of his activities - but people here on the board can attest to the quality of his classes and mixers.

We had our first trip to HH last year. The kids were 6, 4, and 1. Not sure if you're traveling with kids or not, but all the kids had a blast. We really enjoyed the All American Bar B Que (even if it DID rain!) and the events following. We also LOVED the low country boil, which is held at the beach house. DD, 4, enjoyed gyotaku (fish painting - I did a shirt for DS, 6 who was busy catching a bonnethead shark while fishing). As gracelrm mentioned, anything with B'Lou Crabbe is fantastic. The kids loved meeting his dog, Shadow, and hearing his tales. Between the slide at the pool, the beach and shopping at the mercantile (we looked at the same stuff over and over and over), we stayed pretty busy while enjoying a very relaxing vacation. One of the CM's was so sweet and gave pins to my DS and DD without taking any pins from them. Another CM gave us flour so we could make gravy to go with our canned biscuits. Everyone there is incredible. Oh yeah, don't miss the fireworks because the show is great.

Hope you enjoy. We can't wait to go back. And oh yeah, GO VOLS! :cheer2:

if you don't mind, can you please get some pictures of the resort and post them? my wife and I are thinking of trying to visit the hilton head resort. we are only a few hours from it and we have almost made reservations 2 or 3 times, but we instead book a trip to wdw at the wilderness lodge! please let us know what you think!!!

i will give you a go vols, if you give me a go clemson tigers!! :)

We'll be there at the same time you are. Don't know too much about the resort except from what I've read here. Sounds like it will be great and MUCH more relaxing than spending the time at WDW. As much as I love it there, I need a vacation after I get back.

Yes, the CM's will pin trade. You may have to ask at the Mercantile - sometimes they keep their lanyards in a drawer there. usually someone at the front desk will be wearing a lanyard.

Go crabbing! Kids love this, and you can do it right off the pier. Disney will help with making a crabcatcher as an activity. My last morning there I pulled up a net someone had left hanging over the pier and there were two crabs on it. These are 'open' nets by the way - wire circles with netting on them on a long string -nothing fancy. No special skills are required. You can play catch and release - just feed the crabs.
