Disney has TGMike to subscribe for helpful tips. Does Universal/IOA have a similar service?

It doesn't really need one. You don't really need to do a whole day of planning cause Universal is so laid back. No ADR's to make 90 days out. If you get to the park at opening you're able to get everything done in one park and then re-ride, or take a nice break and hit the second park. There is an Unoffical Guide by Kelly Monahagn (sorry if I misspelled you lat name Kelly!!) that does have some great tips in it, and its not expensive at all!! He even posts here!

On the DIS...there is a wonderful tourtist service called "The Proud Redheads" and we are always glad to help a newbie. No question is too big or small and there are no stupid questions...just stupid people.

Ask any question you have and the "Proud Redheads" will do their best to answer.

Really the best strategy here is to stay on site (even one night gets you two days) and use the room key for Express.

it's not necessary.

if you stay on site, you have less down time to get around to the parks and to city walk.

you can use the interactive maps of the parks on the universal website.
you could plan out your days based on the maps.

the rides are described, height requirements are listed, dining places and what they have to offer is detailed all on the website.

spend some time on it and you can plan it all out a week before you go.


you can make a new thread and ask questions that haven't been covered in the forums or website.

many hear have been numerous times and can help you out.
but, when it comes to eating, we all have our favorite places......

If you're staying offsite, Kelly M's book is great (not even gonna try spelling it out ).

And RUMOR is that TGM 3.0 will have a Universal section.

The Unofficial Guide to WDW use to have touring plans for US in the back of the book. Haven't checked the last couple years but I assume they still do.

By golly, I just happen to have the 2008 UG book on the bookshelf behind me. And, yes, it has both IOA and US touring plans in the back.

We learned a few weeks ago that if you have FOTL, you don't need a ride by ride plan.

If you don't have FOTL, then take a common sense approach--which rides are the most popular and are slow loading? Ride them first, because those lines will grow the fastest. I think my plan ofr US, w/o FOTL, would start with Mummy, Simpsons, MIB. For IOA--Hulk, Spiderman, DD.
