You can get lots of info on the wdwgolf website. Sorry I'm not sure what the exact address is. If you don't mind being flexible with what time you play and are going to play several times on one trip or have more than one trip planned in a year, then consider the golf membership. I think you can get tee times after 10:00 am. That may change during various seasons.
Can you tell I'm not the golfer?
Just a very supportive golfer's wife !
The website is www.wdwgolf.com (I'm not saying DH golfs alot, but we have it bookmarked!). The golf discount card is good for tee times after 10:00 AM and costs about $50/year. The reduced fees are good for the member and up to 4 guests. Although LBV isn't discounted any more than the others, it's the least expensive anyways and according to DH, one of the most enjoyable (once you get beyond the sound of the SSR construction).
If you are going down in August, I wouldn't bother with the pass. It is just too hot after 10 am. The first few holes are tolerable, but by noon it is just beyond awful! Now, if you are a "kid"--younger than 35--you might be able to handle the heat. We are from the upper midwest, and quit at noon, it just wasn't worth it to us to be out in the heat.
Everything depends on how you can tolerate the heat. We were at OKW last week and the temps were 89-92, but the breezes were nice. My husband and his friend golfed 3 days using the golf pass, with tee times from 11:16 - 12:30, and did not have a problem with the heat at all. It was $35 with the golf pass, and the golf pass is good for you and up to 3 others.
Osprey Ridge is closed all summer; Eagle Pines was closed all week, but opened Saturday. They played the Palm 1x and LBV 2x.
If the heat doesn't bother you, go for it. We are from Chicago, and they had no problem with it.
As stated above, the DVC discounted membership is $50 as opposed to $85 for non members. That gets you $35 for any course after 10 AM (plus guests). It's good for a year. But, the regular rates after 10 AM for anyone are $45 for two of the courses, and $55 and $59 for the other two, so unless you are going to use it for more than a few rounds, it doesn't make sense.
