Disney Golf question

Does anyone know if people from out of the area can join the player's club, whether as an annual or seasonal member, without having a residence in the area? It is somewhat confusing how it is presented on the site, and even contacting them didn't do much to clarify. I will be down there for two weeks and hoped to play several rounds of golf on my non-park days. Obviously, it would be beneficial to be able to know all of my options and find the best one for me.
