Happy Holidays everyone!

So, for christmas my girlfriend and myself received a substantial amount of Disney gift cards as we are making a trip down in 2016 (yay!). In planning what we will use them all on(I was thinking alot of meals), are they accepted just about anywhere in WDW? Or is there somewhere where I can see where it isn't accepted??

Thanks!

Are you staying on-site? If so you can use them to pay for your vacation. Also if you are, you can charge everything to your room and then go to the main desk and pay with your gift cards. Each resort level has a different maximum charge amount before they will charge the credit card on file. So keep an eye on your balance or go down every day or two and pay it off.

But to answer your question yes almost every place will accept Disney gift cards. There are a very few places that won't. Balloons sellers are cash only. There may be a restaurant or two that are not Disney owned that won't accept it but I can't think of any. You can even pay for restaurant tips with gift cards.

There are a few restaurants in Epcot (World Showcase, I believe) and also at Disney Springs. There are several websites that list ownerships. But the vast majority are Disney-owned, so do your homework, and you'll have no issues. Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you very much! I hadn't thought of the charge to the resort option. GREAT TIP! Thanks again!

Don't forget that you can combine them into one card (up to $1000) so you don't have to carry a whole stack :goodvibes

that site works great for combining cards! Just be sure to keep al the original cards somewhere safe till the balances are all used up.

I don't know if point of sale programming is the same at WDW as at DLR, but just a heads up that a high balance gift card will trigger a management override at DLR. That's normally not a huge deal, but you do have to wait for said management to show up and approve the sale. Also, I have had a CM tell me the register won't accept the gift card. I politely suggested she call for a manager since I knew exactly what was going on, but that could be disconcerting for those not in the know. Unfortunately I'm not sure what amount triggers the override, but a ~ $750 card definitely did. Just something to be aware of.

Thanks for the heads up! The highest single value I have is $200 so we'll have to see!
