Disney Gift Cards

Hi Dis,

I read on a thread over the weekend about purchasing Disney gift cards at target to get the 5% off using the target card. This sounds intriguing to me, since why not go ahead and save 5% on something you know you are already spending.

My question for you guys is do you use these cards for everything? Can they be used for your resort stay, as well as food, gifts, and what nots within the park?

I guess I'm just curious to know if there is anywhere I can't use them. I'm thinking that we will get them for most of our food purchases, but If there is somewhere they can't be used I would like to know this in advance.

If you use Target pharmacy, once you fill 5 prescriptions they send you an add'l 5% coupon that can be stacked on top of the red card's 5% discount. We just got one in the mail yesterday and its good for about a month, so I'm going to look into the Disney gift cards as well.

Pharmacy rewards can no longer be used for gift cards. Sorry.

Disney Gift Cards cannot be used at the Swan & Dolphin except in the Disney gift shop in the lobby.

While Swan and Dolphin are out the funny thing is that you can charge anything to your room in other resorts and pay for it all in gift cards. This is true even if you charge something that would normally not be honored in an excluded restaurant.

So go to the excluded restaurant, charge to your room and you are good to pay for the whole smack with gift cards at checkout.
