Disney Gift Cards

Where does everyone go to get Gift cards for Disney? We're looking to get about $400/$500 for tips/drinks etc for our upcoming trip in September (OK OK not that close but I like planning ahead ) We're just a few minutes from the Detroit boarder, but we don't really want to go over to get gift cards (especially in that high of an amount)...

oh and this is probably a dumb question but will Canadian gift cares work in Disney? The only reason I ask is because after many years of working in retail I see almost all US gift cards don't work here and vice versa

You can get gift cards from the disney web site and I think from the Disney Store.

I remember reading here on the forums a few weeks ago that Disney gift cards purchased here in Canada are not accepted at WDW.

If I've remembered incorrectly... I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me! lol!

They won't ship gift cards bought through the Disney Store Online to Canada, they won't accept gift cards bought in Canada. There is a site that will ship gift cards to Canada (scroll down in the attached thread), but the shipping charge starts at $25.

Your best bet is to buy them over the border. Sorry

Do they sell gift cards in DTD? We're staying at the Best Western for a night and heading to DTD before checking into POP. If we can get them there we'll just bring the cash and put it on a gift card once we get there

Yes you can buy them at the stores in DTD. World of Disney has a huge selection.

You can buy gift cards at Pop as well.

If you have a car and a Target credit card it's better to buy them at a Target (US) so you can get a 5% off. I was told it only works using the Canadian Target credit card works, not the Target debit.

If you are flying from US, you can purchase Disney gift cards at Target.
I believe I read on a FB Disney group page that the 5% is no longer offered on Gift Cards
