Does anyone know where you can and cannot use Disney gift cards on Disney property? I know it says you can use it anywhere, but Downtown Disney for instance, can you use them at the restaurants there or Lego Store? I was thinking of getting my daughter a gift card and when her money is gone, that's it. That way we can budget what we are spending on her and not go overboard, which I'm sure is very easy to do in Disney. Thanks!

We were able to use our gift cards pretty much everywhere we tried. The only places that didn't accept them as payment were at Disney's Swan and Dolphin, (the only exception to this is the Disney gift shop inside the Dolphin takes them). Some examples of non-Disney owned restaurants that took our gift cards were: all of the Epcot pavillion restaurants, Yak and Yeti, and Fulton's Crabhouse. I don't know about the stores but you can always call ahead and ask. Yak and Yeti are owned by Landry's who also own Rainforest Cafe and TREX, so it is safe to assume that they accept the gift cards as well. Also, Fulton's Crabhouse is owned by Levy's who also owns Portobello and the Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe so it is safe to assume they accept them as well. Hope this helps.

I can confirm that Rainforest/TREX takes them, too. :)

I'm thinking of doing this for our trip next year. The local supermarkets offer gas perks for buying gift cards, so we'll probably buy a couple to use and get some cheaper gas in the process.
