Disney Gift Cards

I was thinking about giving the kids each a $25 gift card to Disney. It says it can be used in WDW. Does anyone know which stores. My kids like to do the pin trading and often find ones they like at the small stands set up around the park. Do those count too?

I usually buy my put my kids' souvenir money on the gift cards. They can be used anywhere, except at cash only places of course. Every time they use it, they get a receipt that shows their balance. They kept good track and never asked me for more. At the end, my son gave his small balance to his sister to help her get one last thing.

I actually gave my kids a $25 gift card for valentines day I got them from Walgreens. This way, they can't spend it until they get there! I cold not decide on $25 or $50, but I felt $50 was a little too much. I may change my mind and get them some more, but not sure yet. It says on the cards anywhere in WDW, the shops, food courts, Downtown Disney, dining, the water parks, etc. Like the pp, some food carts may not take it.

I thought that was a great idea but I've checked with our Walgreens and they don't have the cards. Any suggestions where I can get one? Is there set amount or can you just add what ever amount you want?

I have been getting mine at our local stop and shop supermarket ,i have also seen them at cvs pharmacy .If you cant find them local you can always order from Disney themselves . I try to pick up a $25.00 gift card every so often .I used to buy Disney money throughout the year and when we went to Disney my husband loved using the Disney money .

When I got ours from Walgreens you picked the amount, I think it was a minimum of $15 and a maximum of $500.

I used disney gift cards as my "savings plan" for my trip this past december.. I had my yard sales/change jar money put on my gift card so that I couldnt spend it any where but at WDW or the disney store it worked great im actually doing it again for my next trip... They can be used ANYWHERE... I was able to make payments on my reservations with it, it can be used in any store, any cart that accepts cards (credit cards or your room charge keys) the only thing I didnt use it for was tips at restaurants (we were on the free dining plan) and it also cannot be used at places that arent disney owned (rainforest cafe, mcdonalds which is closing anyways, etc)

I got online to try and find out more about the Disney Dollars but wasn't sure where to buy them. Am I understanding it correctly --I can buy them at Disney World?? If so where at FW can I get them? Also, I can exchage any left over for cash before we leave if needed? Thanks again for all your help!!!

My kids like to pin trade and they spent a lot of there money last buying pins to trade.For our upcoming trip we have been buying pins on ebay to trade at the parks 40 pins +shipping for less than 40$

I tried to get disney dollars for my son for Christmas but was told by the Disney Store they no longer sell Disney Dollars and you have to get the gift cards (which i have seen also at Riteaid) i have like $100 of disney dollars saved up over the years for us to spend during our Sept. trip.

Does anyone know if it matters if you have the dollars or the cards? I can still use those dollars in Disney right? or do they need to be transfered onto a disney gift card -which seems odd.

We used to get Didney Dollars from the disney store too. I sent cash with my mother to buy some at WDW last November. She had a hell of a time trying to find people/places with any on hand. I think they're goning to phase it out if you ask me.

wow, this seems like a great way to save for an upcoming trip, and an alternative to the dining plan which we've been looking for,

so you can just buy as much $$ of these cards as you want and then use them pretty much anywhere.....restaurants, souvenir shops, trading pins,,,whatever?

According to the people at our local Disney Store, Disney dollars aren't available anymore. I gave my 22 year old daughter a gift card as part of her birthday present for our most recent trip. My parents gave us one to use on our next trip. They are great.
