Disney Gift Cards through SCRIPS

Hi. I'm not sure where to ask this. My children's school sells SCRIPS cards through a company called Great Lakes something or other. They are gift cards. They have cards from Disney. My question is this. Will they expire? I'm thinking about purchasing them every few weeks to have for our trip Summer 2010. However, if something would happen and we would need to delay our trip, I'm worried that the cards will expire or start charging a monthly fee after so many months. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanks.

I don't know if they 'expire' but there is a note on our order form that says after 6 months the issuing company has the right to charge a fee monthly if you're still carrying a balance. Not that they all WILL, but they might. So I'd keep that part in mind.

No they don't expire. I haven't had Disney charge a service fee either. Scrip is a great progam! My dd's school used Great Lake Scrip and they are wonderful.

A word of advise. If you buy scrip to use on DCL, I would get the $100 that way you can see how you account goes. When you use the Disney scrip onboard they take the whole amount and put it on your account.

I have used the Disney cards in the parks and to make ressies. It's easy!

I love using the script cards, we use them to pay off our vacation monthly online. Its nice to get some money towards dd's tuition and go to Disney!

We have Scrips at my dd's school. I looked into buying the Disney Cards to pay for our cruise. The amount the school gets is really pathetically low (like 1 or 2 percent). Even on a 3600. cruise cost that would only amount to about 70.00.

Thanks. I think it will be worth it. Our school splits the percentage between the school and the families so it seems to be win win.

My dd's school has scrip as a fundraiser. Each family has to purchase $3500 in scrip per year. (if you purchase more, you get the percentage applied to tuition). A cruise would be a great way to meet our obligation...I will have to mention this to DH!! ;)

But 2-3% is still more than the school would get without the program, and it doesn't cost you a dime extra :cool1:

We bought them almost every other week at my DS's school and ended up almost totally even when we paid our bill at checkout!
