disney gift cards question

So I was wondering can you use disney giftcards on anything? such as hotel reservations, park tickets, and all that stuff?

cause target just started carrying them and I get them discounted so it seems like it'd be a sweet deal to buy em every now n then to save up plus basicly get 15% off my disney trip

I certainly hope so because I have been getting them at Giant Eagle and getting gas perks with them. I have about $300.00 worth and was planning on using it a Fultons for my OOP dinner.

As long as they are Disney Gift Cards, not disneyshopping. The disneyshopping are only good for buying merchandise on the Disney site.

You can use them I'd say about 99% of the places. There may be some small kiosks that take cash only, or some stores that are not sponsored by Disney, although I don't think there at a whole lot of them. I've never actually encountered a problem, and I use gift cards alot.

You can even use them as your "deposit" for room charging. Just give them at check in and they will apply it to your room to charge against.

You can use them for your deposit and to pay off your reservation.

I'm not too familiar with TS restaurants since we don't do them too much, but I think you'd be ok with the parks and resorts. Hopefully a foodie can pop in here and give more info on that. I know I've used them for many CS places in the parks.

How are you getting them for 15% off? Is there a coupon or just by using a Target credit card?

disneygiftcard.com tells you quite a bit (it's not as specific as I'd like, but it's a really good overview).

The disneyshopping e-certificates are bought on disneyshopping (or received at coinstar kiosks), and I think you'd be able to tell if you're getting that vs a normal giftcard.

The disneyshopping.com cards say that, or the ones we saw tonight at Sam's did...they're having a special buy a $100 disney gift card and get a $10 disneyshopping.com giftcard. HTH!

We just got back from Disney and bought a lot of gift cards through scrips and used them for everything, tickets, souveniers, room, Bibbidi Boppiti Botique. I don't think you can use them in Japan but am not 100% on that.

I think you may not be able to use them at a few of the restaurants at World Showcase & Downtown Disney because they are not owned by Disney but other than that you should be good!

That's a wonderful deal. But just a heads up, last year Target ran the same $10 gift card for every $100 spent and it specifically excluded Target gift cards purchases, so I wouldn't be suprised if this year it excludes other types of gift cards as well, but it's definately something to watch for!!! But even without that, it's still a great deal!

We paid for our Aug 2010 trip with gift cards from Giant Eagle. Everytime they'd have double gas perks, I'd buy a bunch and make payments. Plus I bought $700 for BBB, Pirate's League, souvies, etc. We didn't have to pay for gas for months!!

I don't work for Target, but I can tell you that every retailer that I have, your employee discount did NOT count towards the purchase of any gift cards. Check with your manager before you purchase any if that is a deal breaker for you!


We've purchased gift cards from both Scrip and Giant Eagle and they have worked fine.

We charge our purchased to our room and then I go down and pay it off the night before we leave. I don't like to put the balance on it first, because if we don't spend it all I don't want to mess with getting the refund back.

I LOVE the gas perks at Giant Eagle! Just got $87.50 worth of gas for $.52!

Discount doesn't work on trgt giftcards but works on all merchandise I double checked the Disney ones and it works
