Disney Gift Cards or Disney Dollars

I emailed Disney Gift Card CS & was told that as of October 23 the cards could be used at front desks--that they had updated their computers or whatever to accept them.

Anyone have information on this? I have a bunch of $25 gift cards & was hoping I could just charge to the room & then go pay it off with gift cards.

It's possible, but when i was there 10/18 -10/26 they were not taking them.

I was planning on doing the same thing! Hope we can! It will be so much easier and less of a hassle!

Just checked the site and it does say that you can nw use them at the resort front desk, lucky you! I wish it would have been so easy when we were ther!

Anyone have any idea whether the gift cards can be used on DCL for shipboard purchases? I can actually, through disneyshopping, purchase gift cards using Upromise so i would accumulate 4% back towards our Upromise account (hopefully she'll go to college!) and have them applied shipboard, as I know I will roll up a bill there!

Yes -- in fact Sunshinegirl recently said she did just that, and we too are planning to use them on DCL in January. I just ordered a $500 card through Disney shopping using the Disney Visa rewards dollars I had accumulated to get the 8% cash back through Sunshine Rewards.

If anyone here uses Upromise, you can get the gift cards through disneyshopping.com via Upromise for 4% to your Upromise account also. Tack on top of that any credit card promo (I'll use my Disney card) and you get some seriously negotiable cards with quite a bit on the backside!

You could get 8% through Sunshine Rewards but it expired 11/30! I know a lot of people took advantage of it!! I believe QuickRewards had 8% also!

I have a con for the gift card, you can only load them once until you use them all the way down. Example, I bought a card with $25 on it, I can not add to that $25, I have to buy a new card or spend the $25 on the original card. I would rather have more bills than keep track of which cards have which amount on them. Just my $0.02!

This may sound silly, but can you use gift cards to buy gift cards?

For example, say I have 4 $25 gift cards from different reward sites, etc. Could I go to a Disney store and buy a $100 gift card and use the ones I already had to pay for it? (Just to have less cards to keep up with) Just curious?!
