I have Disney Gift Cards from the Disney Store. I know they can be applied to your KTTWC spending acct, however, what happens if you have more money that came from your gift cards than you end up spending? (Yeah right, I know!!) Do you get that back as cash or do you get a new gift card for the unused balance when you depart?

As you use the gift card, the amount used gets deducted from the total amount of the gift card. You get a receipt that tells you the amount of your purchase and what your balance is. At the very end of your stay, you can apply the room charges to the amount left on your gift card. If you still have money left on your gift card :lmao: that money just stays on that card to be used for the future. I'm not sure about getting cash back. Does all of that make sense?

I've done exactly this on my last 2 trips to WDW. I use the Disney Gift Cards as a method of saving for the trip, and when I get to WDW I put the entire amount from the Gift Card down as a deposit to enable room charging.

When I check out, any money left on my KTTW card is refunded in cash. I don't think they can charge Disney Gift Cards at the check-out desks of the resorts, so cash is your only option.

But if you don't want to carry that cash home with you, no problem - just go to the resort gift shop and put the leftover money on a new Disney Gift Card. Every resort gift shop sells them, and many of the shops and stores in the parks and Downtown Disney, too.
