Disney Gift Cards and DTD

Hi DISers,

Quick question about using Disney gift cards at DTD. We will be using gift cards for most of our food purchases. We are not FD folks.

Can you use the gift cards at DTD restaurants? Specifically Earl of Sandwich?

Since it is not a disney restaurant it seems like you would not be able to, but I know you guys have the answer

Also, do you know of any restaurants within the parks that may not take the gift cards? Like Starbucks maybe?

EoS does take gift cards. They also give a 10% discount if you have a AAA card.

Can't say if there are any places that don't take gift cards. My feeling is that there would be only a handful that don't....if any. Starbucks does take Disney gift cards as well as their own.

They do not take them in Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney in DLR. I made the mistake of putting $1500 on them before our Disneyland trip and then we were not able to use them in Downtown Disney restaurants there.

Are you staying on property? If so, you can charge everything to your resort and then stop by the desk every couple days and pay off your account. We did that in June. That way, we could go to virtually anyplace on property - Earl of Sandwich, Starbucks, etc.

Yes, and No.

We have a split stay. Yacht club and Dolphin. Our downtown disney day will probably fall once we have moved to the dolphin.
