Disney Gift Card from the Disney Store?

hello!

does anyone know if the disney gift cards i buy from the disney stores here are valid to be used in orlando? i wanted to get some and hand out to DD6 and my nieces for their souvenir money, if it was possible... hmmm, and i wonder how they'd handle the exchange rate...

As far as I know only gift cards purchased at American Disney Stores can be used towards purchases at the world and on the cruise line. I looked into this for our cruise last November and had to drive to New York in order to buy the gift cards. I am hoping this will change to make Canadian travellers lives easier! Just like I am hoping Canadians will soon be able to apply for Disney Visa Cards!
