Disney Gift Card for eating purposes.....

My husband has "earned" a gift card from virtually anywhere he choses. We are going to WDW in October. Can a Disney Gift Card be used at most of the restaurants there? We are staying at the Caribean Beach Resort; can it be used there at their food places?

It was my experience last year, that Disney Store Gift cards cannot be used anywhere in the parks. MY MIL bought us several of these for our trip (we had asked for Disney Dollars and her store was closing and had already sent them all back). World of Disney doesn't even take them.

You could always call your local Disney Store and see if they will let you purchase Disney Dollars with the GC. Mine lets us do that.
