Disney Gift Card Deals

Ebay? Ecards? Target? I've got my remaining $2000 I owe and my Sams club card shouldn't I just go that route.

Sure. It is the easiest. It will only net you 5-7% savings, though.

If you read through the last several pages of this thread there is really good advice on ways to net larger savings. It is, however, much more complicated and a bit riskier than just buying discounted gift cards from Sam's.

The choice is yours.

Does anybody have a link to a good spreadsheet so this new churner can keep track? Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much @Lain and @Minniekins for taking the time to really explain, so helpful. I do have other available funds set aside for the trip besides the $500. I was just afraid of going too big and my purchase being flagged or cancelled. I already have the $200 in eBay, you recommended adding $550 to have a $750 balance to churn but would you guys recommend going higher since the money is sitting in a savings account?

I would not recommend putting in more money than you're comfortable with risking. The gift card churning process is risky, but with the reward of essentially free money that can be turned into Disney Gift Cards. As many of us understand, either eBay, Target, or Gift Card Mall could change their rules at any time and close any one of the loops that make this possible since there seems to be a general trend of cracking down on gift card abuse. If that ever happens, are you okay with the possibility of being stuck with several hundred dollars of either Target or eBay gift cards? That said, churning has been around for a while and there's no specific reason to think these retailers will stop it anytime soon.

Do the math when considering GCM charges $2.99 shipping for the first of any denomination gift card and $0.99 for each additional card of the same denomination. GCM sells $50, $100, and $150 Target gift cards. Figure out what combination of amounts results in the lowest shipping cost. If you were to go in at $700, you'd buy 4x$150 and 1x$100 ($8.95 shipping), or 7x$100 ($8.93 shipping); but at $750, you'd buy just 5x$150 ($6.95 shipping). So if you put out $50 more out-of-pocket, you could save an additional $2 on shipping. Only you can decide whether that extra savings is worth the additional investment.

Two more things, how would I get a 8-10 % discount on this initial ebay purchase of Target cards (using a cc, but without ebay promo) ?

PATIENCE! Your trip is not until next year so you have a lot of time to churn, but you seem to be in a lot of hurry to get started even without an eBay Bucks offer. We cannot emphasize enough that because GCM sells Target gift cards at face value and charges shipping, waiting for an eBay Bucks offer is essential for it to make sense to go through eBay at all. You are much more likely to burn through your $5,000/180-day PayPal gift card redemption limit -- possibly twice -- before your trip even happens. The point is to make every cycle count to try and maximize your savings. So wait for a 4x or even just 5x eBay Bucks promo.

I don't think there's any way of getting an 8-10% on an initial purchase without going through one of the gift card reseller sites + Target's 5% Red Card, or waiting for a 4x or 5x eBay Bucks promo. (I don't do the fuel rewards route.) You've been warned about the reseller sites, but if you were to go that route, it'd be to (1) use your credit card to buy a Target gift card from a reseller at ~5% off; (2) use the discounted Target gift card with the additional 5% Red Card discount applied to buy an eBay gift card, resulting in about ~10% savings; (3) use the eBay gift card to buy a Target gift card from GCM during an eBay Bucks promo, resulting in additional savings depending on the promo multiplier. But doing it this way will already dip into your $5,000 limit on the initial churn because you'll be paying with an eBay gift card. Each time you pay with an eBay gift card, that amount is deducted from the $5,000 limit for 180 days. This is why if you want to avoid the reseller sites and maximize the use of your $5,000 limit, we've suggested WAITING for a good 4x or 5x eBay Bucks offer to spend whatever out-of-pocket money you would've spent at the reseller sites to buy Target gift cards directly from GCM.

Each cycle should add % savings to your fund, so it eventually doesn't really matter where you start.

And, Once I buy these new Target cards through ebay, should I buy eBay cards to have ready for the next ebay promo? Thanks so much. I'm sure you guys are helping quite a few people :)

I know I've written about this recently in response to one of your posts: http://www.disboards.com/threads/disney-gift-card-deals.2941964/page-560#post-55270941. I'd add that in the most recent 5x promo, GCM didn't run out of $150 Target gift cards, so that may mean you have more time to get your Target cards converted to eBay after a promo starts if you hadn't already done so. It all goes back to your risk tolerance and whether you'd mind possibly being stuck with either Target or eBay gift cards.

(Edited for clarity.)

Thanks again @Lain . I asked about the 8-10% because a previous poster said that would be the savings without going with Raise and I couldn't understand how that could be.

I start with 14% but that's with fuel points.
I start with 100%, but that's because I get Target GCs and PayPal deposits from the rewards programs that I participate in. :teeth:

I'm up to $1K in free Target GCs since the new year started. That's a result of several churns of my free GCs through Target & eBay, plus using ebates refunds and eBay Bucks to buy more. My actual OOP costs have been $0!

But my point to the PP is that your initial savings is going to be very dependent on where you obtain that first GC for churning and how it was funded. Some people will use Target GCs that they got by making qualifying purchases at Target (which means that they save 100% from the beginning), others purchase from a grocery store for the fuel perks (savings depends on the number of fuel perks offered and the size of your gas tank) and many will do a combination of those things.

Ok, I am new to this and trying to make sure I understand. Do you just keep going back and forth between Target & Ebay gift cards until you are ready to cash out?

This is what i do! Our trip to Disneyland that we just got back from was paid for this way. It was so amazing to be there and not be worried if we were spending too much, we had gift cards for food and nothing came out of our pocket including tickets, parking, gas and hotel. That is the beauty of all of this!

That's pretty much the way I plan to do it and have done it in the past. I would just caution anyone considering the whole churning process to approach it with some restraint. Churning tens of thousands of dollars through Target within a couple of months is likely to draw attention to your activity. You don't want to get banned because they suspect that you're a re-seller.

Oh boy, I am so deficient in Paypal knowledge, but it sounds like opening a 2nd account is the way to go. I have one Paypal that was opened years ago for occasional incoming DVC rental payments. I think I probably opened it as a personal account. I would like to open another account and understand it needs to be considered/set up as a business account. Are there any qualifying conditions to being considered a business account? Also, what is the deal about linking to CC vs. bank accounts? Will I need to link the 2nd account to a different bank account or is a CC acceptable? I do not recall anything about verifying my 1st account but it apparently is, will the 2nd account need to be verified?
I currently have 600. in Target cards that I will be buying eBay with for the next promotion and will likely buy an additional 300. the next time the 5x comes around. I think I prefer buying 150. increments. Is that advisable with the Target limits/restrictions and the shipping discounts with eBay? I would prefer to go with 200. increments but it seems that it has been less than seamless for many. TIA

I have 2 Paypal accounts - 1 personal, 1 business. Both are linked to baking accounts. It's been a long time since I opened them, so I don't remember exactly the type of account I used to open each, but they've been linked to a combination of savings, individual checking, joint checking, and business checking, in addition to credit cards. If you run into a problem not being able to verify your account with a credit card, realize there are other options available to you.

@Minniekins was correct. I just spent the last 2 hours doing a spreadsheet and I have saved 8% without any extra bucks promo. My initial outlay was $800 in cash but realized a $64 savings with cc rewards, regular 2% ebay bucks and using the iConsumer portal. It may be a bit more than that, waiting to see if I get around $9 back from iConsumer for today's purchase. That will be a 9% savings. Now I just wait for an extra bucks promo. Thanks to everyone.

There's a new ebay code for $20 off $100 C20FLASH and it works on the gift cards without having to add anything to it!

It works on the gift card mall target cards and the ebay digital gift cards. So you could use it on the best buy gift cards or Target from GCM.

Another Ebay 20 off 100 for today from 2pm-7pm PT code C20FLASH.

I believe working on gift cards, placing an order for a target gc.

Awesome! Thanks!

It worked on my $100 Target gift card purchase. Except I forgot to go through a portal. Boo.

I am only churning $200 right now, and am not going to add to it OOP. Would it be best to only do $100 for this promo or the full $200 to keep the funds all together (in case an ebucks promo comes out)?

Others beat me to it but was coming to post about the 20 off code for eBay. Definitely works for gift cards !

Is it a one time use thing or can we do it more than once? I guess I could try and see. I need GCs for our honeymoon!
