First, make sure you link to your PayPal, so there's somewhere for the money to go. Then go to Rewards, and click Redeem.

I heard that Sams is going to stop selling Disney GCs. Is this true?

@Nick6300 posted that sad news here , Having read back several pages no one else has confirmed this at their location. How did you hear about this and what location? Also did they give you a start date? Thank you!

Which ones? Everything is grinding to a halt.

Looks like CC deals are just about the only thing left, and they're ridiculously hit or miss (and I don't have CCs with good rewards anyway).

I get what you're saying, I don't seem to get many offers posted here either and getting my hubby on board with getting better cc's has been an up hill battle. However, I do get a lot in cashback for buying needed merchandise online.

I keep a of list of items we need, how much it originally cost and the lowest price offered. I compare prices with other stores and when there is a high cashback rate of 10% or higher I buy it. Coupons and price adjustments are a big factor too. It's all part of being an extreme couponer.

My expected cash back for RMT is $147.13 and for Ebates it's $50.46 this is what I'll use to pay for the AP's I bought at Sam's. Right now for us, the best deal for gift cards are at Kroger.

My Sams location in central Illinois said they stopped selling Disney GC's in store (all), but that they're still avail. on the app/online, and last time I checked (yesterday, you could still buy them on app for the typical 4% off for $50 & $75 denom., not as much off for the $150 & $500). I didn't ask if corp. sams is aiming to do this for other stores too or just this area, and if it's permanent, but thinking about asking a mgr. the next time.

I had the qtly 5% off warehouses for a credit card, was why I looked for them a few days in a row before finally asking someone if they were all sold out or discontinued. Seems like an odd move for our Sams given you'd think Disney cards are more popular than many of the other GC's they sell.

We ended up using the Freedom for buying Disney GC's at Kroger for 5% off Grocery Stores, of course non -discounted there, but getting the 4x fuel rewards via the clipped digital coupon.

We also remembered to try Ebates (our first time ever) for our 2nd set of APs at Sams Travel Fri night, but I don't think it worked for Ebates. And looking at my card rewards today for the Sams APs, it appears that it didn't count as a travel purchase per Bank of America (didn't think it would).

Yep, I can't remember who said to use Ebates for Sam's AP's but I didn't think that would count. They're pretty strict about their travel & tickets. Bummer the cc used didn't yield additional savings. We used our Discover so maybe we'll see 1%

Now if my hubby would only open a new checking & savings account at the local Chase bank, we could still get $600 for that. We're still being targeted and the latest offer expires in August. My man really needs to get up to speed! $600 bucks isn't chump change.

Please bear with me guys - I swear I've done a lot of reading both on Disboards and on the interwebs to try to figure out how to buy discounted Disney GCs, but I'm new to this...

I have the Amex Blue card, which is a Cash Rewards card and not a MR card, so the offer is not currently available to me. I'm thinking of signing up for the no annual fee Amex Everyday card, which is a MR card, and maybe then the Amazon offer will be available to me. IF it is (or if it's available to someone in my family on one of their Amex cards, or if I end up buying discounted GCs some other day some other way), how do I know which GCs to buy at a discount to then use to buy Disney GCs? My understanding is this no longer works at Best Buy, is that right? Or Safeway? Does it still work at Stop & Shop? How about BB&B?

Is it generally a YMMV sitch, so you should only buy GCs from stores you'd shop at anyway, and then take your chances as to whether you can use them to buy Disney GCs? Thanks!!
Everyone has covered the gc part of this but I just wanted to chime in to say if you want an MR earning card realize it could take a month or two before you see your first MR point post. Also, when getting a new Amex card always check that you are getting one of the best bonuses available for the card because Amex bonuses are once in a lifetime.

I closed my last AMEX recently due to the fees, despite knowing about the lifetime bonuses, and wish I had a $0 fee AMEX to keep around for their 10% retail store offers, for giftcards. I'm not a churner, but I have too many recent cards to qualify for any AMEX. Had just tried recently. Actually, I won't qualify for anything but Bank of America and a few lessor known cards..

We have 2 $0 fee Am Ex cards (HH & Delta) as far as the offers they suck! You're not missing anything buddy so no worries there! :thumbsup2 Nothing like getting 5-8 offers for wine when you're allergic to booze! :rotfl:

EDIT: Just checked my offers, there are seven for wine! :drinking1

Someone here, it may have been gottalovepluto mentioned that Wells' checking offer could be had with ACH transfers instead of true direct deposit from paychecks to qualify for the bonus. We have done the Chase offer a few times, but we both work at places now where it's too much of a hassle to go through with messing with direct deposits through HR to take advantage of the various DDA offers. I'd be interested in hearing about other new bank acct offers that doesn't require direct deposit. We tend to stick to credit cards, and occasionally a savings acct (i.e. Capone 360, Citi, 5/3rd)

I sort of have an eye on the HSBC offers, because they seem easier. But every time I start an online app, I get a warning that I may not qualify due to having had a prior acct with them recently... which I haven't, just a credit card. But I don't want to take the chance.

Thank you. Yes, I already saw that the 15,000 MR points after spending $1k offer went down to 10,000 points after I logged into the Amex site as a current (Blue) cardholder. I'm sure the offer wasn't as good because I'm a current Amex cardholder. I was going to do some more research re: Amex cards and offers so I can try to get the best offer possible when and if I sign up for an MR point-earning card.

so some of the no annual fee AMEX cards don't have the same 10% of Lowes, Best Buy, UT type offers? I'm sorry about your allergy!

Nope! And just because people have specific cc's doesn't mean they'll be targeted. A site called backtoneverland posted about their chase cc's like they had 8 or 9 of them and none had the offers some here posted about. I wrote about that a while ago.

That stinks. I don't really get to enjoy a whole lot of booze either, as an Asian with allergies to the fermented ingredients. I don't mind that much, saves me $. Especially at places like WDW.

Psssst- you should also check the referral options from your current Amex card. There should be a spot or ad somewhere on your current login to refer a friend or something, it will tell you how many points you’ll get if your referral is approved then click through and select see all personal cards and you should see most of the Amex fam of cards show up. If you’re approved through your referral link you’ll get the bonus and the referral :)
