I decided to write this for anyone that thinks that a "DISNEY" cruise can't be fun without children. I returned to work and had a few people ask me "What does "DISNEY" provide for a vacation for adults"? My answers... Relaxation, Fun, Food, Entertainment, and Drinks all "DISNEY" style! My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and myself (ages 31-44) recently sailed on the Wonder (Oct.30-Nov.6) to the Mexican Rivera, and had a blast. Everyday was wonderful, one day we took a class on the Art of Entertaining and learned how to make apple streudel with a vanilla sauce from one of the pastry chefs. We also attended a mix-ology session how to create alcoholic beverages. A couple of days we lounged at the adult only pool, soaked up the sun by the pool, swam and enjoyed the hot tubs. The offered a behind the scenes presentation from one of the CEO's of Disney which was outstanding. Ohhh and how could I forget....I did get my picture taken with several Disney characters that were just as inviting to me as the children to pose for a photo. =) We did attend several venues that were family oriented and they were great as well. We choose the late seating for dinner (8:15pm) and (6:15pm) for our theater time and it was perfect. So, I just wanted to say "Thank you" to Disney for making your cruises all age friendly, and providing a great vacation for adults as well as children. FYI-Next cruise already booked. =)

Thank for the post.

My wife and I are going on the same cruise next year for our anniversary. I've been worried that it would be boring or odd to be going with no kids. thanks for putting that fear to rest.

YW Monkey! Just be sure to read your navigator everyday not to miss out what types of classes and events that are going on for the day.

As far as excursion's we booked the tequilla making tour for Puerto Vallarte through Disney and it was great. It was a tour of the real city in which both my husband and I wanted to see, it was away from all the commercial typical tourist stuff and we went to a little tortilla factory, stopped at a whole in the wall drink place, bought $1.00 ice cold Modelo beers off the street which were the best! Then we went to a mom and pop agave tequilla factory and taste tested about 6 different flavored tequilla's. Then at the end the guide took us to an authentic mexican restaurant in which lunch was included and we had a few choices to choose from. We choose the fajita's and the lunch also included a beverage of your choice, either alcoholic or non and that was great as well. The excursion was $50 per person and worth it.

On one of our Cabo days we walked to Cabo Wabo, visited the little flea market for some trinkets and walked all along the marina, we stopped at Capt Tony's for a bite to eat too. Then on the other day we hired a water taxi ($10.00) per person for 2 hours to take us over to Lover's beach and around the tip of where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific ocean meet. Then drop us off at the beach for an hour. I will admit I was nervous about hiring some stranger to take us and drop us off, but he said he would be back to get us and he was right he was. We saw ton's of fish in the beautiful water it was incredible.

OP- I'll add in my 2 cents, and not just cuz you're my sister!

The name "Disney" for some people conjures up images of screaming children, chaos, cheap hot dogs and cotton candy. But considering Disney's success with vacations across the board, they're definitely doing something right!
For myself and DH, 34 and 32, Disney to us means top notch service, amazing food, and a clean ship that has plenty of adult only areas.

There were so many adult only activities that were offered, and a variety of tastes seemed to be catered to. The cruise staff all were very personable without being "up in your business".

Granted, children were present, but honestly, the only time I really noticed them were at character meets, where, duh, children tend to gather.

Disney's food was excellent, and the servers equally so. At every turn, I felt that we truly were "special guests" and not just in a floating hotel.

We don't have children and aren't planning on it, but our next cruise is booked, and it's with Disney!

Although we are cruising Disney with our kids, the last 2 cruises we have been next to tables of adults only. they have all stated how much they love cruising with Disney and they had no kids. They loved the "adult" time, but still loved to interact and see kids....on their terms.....lol

we did an all adults trip for the panama canal cruise, one on the dream, booked the MR in January and Hawaii in October..

Disney is for adults.. lots to do and relaxing and just FUN>>

I totally agree that Disney is great for adults. I've cruised 4 times now with #5 planned for next October on the Fantasy. They do a great job of catering to the "big kids" and I love, love, love Serenity Bay at CC.

I would love to the do the Panama Canal some of these days. I hope they do another crossing as I missed it in 2008 due to a job change and move.

How's the Wonder? We are debating between the Fantasy and the Wonder. This will be our first cruise so the Wonder does appeal to us because it is smaller than the Fantasy.

The Wonder is "wonderful!" I haven't been on the Dream yet (will be cruising the Fantasy next year) but I enjoyed both the Wonder and the Magic as they are smaller and feel more intimate than the much larger Freedom of the Seas that I sailed a few years ago. I prefer the longer cruises as the 3 and 4 days are just too short for me now.

Let me know if you have specific questions about the Wonder...I've sailed her 3 times now.

Just want to add my thoughts as well...We have cruised (only DCL) over many years. We have sailed by ourselves, with our 3 children and with most if the family (15 total). I can only say that each experience is unique in it's own right. With that said, my DW and I are returning to the Magic in January for a Mom and Dad only cruise and we can't wait.

Disney does it right for families, adults and anyone else looking for some "Magic."

I'm actually cruising in January with my DD12 so it's not technically adults only, but my friend and her DD12 are coming along as well. I'm pretty sure that we won't be seeing our girls a whole lot so my friend and I were hoping that there would be some adult options for us. I'm so happy to hear about all of the fun classes and such! Thank you for posting this. I think it's going to be so much fun!

Love DCL and cruise alone. My only complaint is there are no dining tables assigned for solo travelers. On my first DCL cruise - there was one with a very active cruise director - but none since then.

I have written this on the suggestions - so simple - assign one or two tables
for each dining exclusively for solo travelers.

I cruise solo myself. I always befriend folks on the Cruise Meet thread and then sit with them. I have a blast spending time with other Dis'ers.
