In 2 or 3 weeks, I'll be headed to Florida for a business meeting with my artist that draws for me for my business. I met him in Orlando at Disney. Usually, he meets me at the resort I'm staying at for our meeting to go over artwork and upcoming plans.

Well, I'll be flying down on a Thursday night or Friday morning, and coming home on Sunday.

I have this overwhelming urge to buy a one day pass to one of the parks and go ALL BY MYSELF.

I've never done this before. I would have no trouble going on an adults only trip with hubby (probably something like food and wine) but to go to a park alone? Part of me would love to go just for the world showcase. Maybe I'll stay at the Beach Club and then I'll be close to Epcot?

I know my husband couldn't care less nor would my oldest daughter. My two youngest wouldn't either since when we did just go in August, they whined half the time anyway. They'd just be tickled pink for me to bring home something princess for my dd and something from the Lego store for ds.

Am I dillusional? Should I do it? If you were going to be there..right there..for a couple of days for business, would you steal a few hours by yourself and go to your "happy place"?

Of course. I'm leaving in two weeks and I'll be there BY MYSELF for NINE DAYS. It just worked out that way - my oldest daughter might join me during the weekend but I have some DVC points to use and it's cold at home (although it will be cold in Florida, too!)

Just go and have fun. It's not the end of the world - just a day in a theme park.

Do it! You will have a great time and won't regret it. I attend several conferences a year that take place in Orlando and I always try to hit one of the Disney parks while I am there. It is completely different going on your own and you get to see what you want, eat what you want and do what you want. Try it, I think you will like it!

I would be ALL over it! Being able to do what I want for a whole day!

I would have a hard choice over Wishes or Illuminations for the finale!

I would so absloultely totally do this. Id LOVE to go to Disney with just DH, but with two kids under 7, thats not gonna happen. But to have the chance to go ALL ALONE for even just one day....Man Id jump on that. I may even splurge and get a park hopper so I can do what ever I wanted, Mainly Le cellier for dinner.....:rotfl:

go for it and have a good time and tell the rest of us how it went!!!

oooh. I'm soooo dumb! I just remembered I have an annual park hopper from our august trip!!!! woooo hoooo! That means I can get a room only discount too.

I just have to pray there are no snowstorms. We live in NH.

Now..where to stay where to stay...I'm thinking Beach Club. Never stayed there...We just did the Poly and last year we stayed at Grand Floridian.

Go! I would love to spend even half a day shopping on Main Street without hubby and children in tow!

Have fun!

Been there and done that! Go for it!! My only regret was that I was attending a conference and couldn't get to the park until 4:30. ;)

I'd do it in a heartbeat! If you can afford the ticket...then go and enjoy yourself!

if you have an annual pass, you could hit more than 1 park then. take a look at the park calendar and plan away. have fun. i am jealous.

I went to a conference in Orlando last year and didn't go to the parks, but I did do some shopping at DTD. If I had more free time I would have loved to go to the parks though!

Do it! Im currently trying to talk my DH into letting me tag along while he is at a sales meeting the end of Jan. He will be staying at the Waldorf and I want to stay at the Yacht Club and hit a park or to and just relax.

ABSOLUTELY!!! GO, you'll have a blast!! I wish I could go solo for a day or two - WOWee

Absolutely! I'm soooo jealous..... I would have my ticket bought and ressies made already! Personally, I would have a hard time remembering to actually take care of the business part of the trip... but good for you for being disciplined enough to think of work first.

Have fun!

Yes, go for it! You deserve it! My hubbie and I often go to the parks at night alone--one goes and plays while the other stays with sleeping kids in the room. I've gone to Magic alone til 1:30 am, and he's hit DHS til midnight. It's a good place to be alone, and lots of fun!

In a heartbeat I would! I would be sick to be that close not go.

Go for it! I went with dh last Nov to Disney while he was on a business trip. I had a blast walking around by myself!!
We stayed at the Boardwalk, If you want to try the Beach Club go for it, it is walking distance to Epcot.
