DH and I are planning a 2 day stay at Disney before our trip with family at sanibel for new years. We have never been when it is decorated for Christmas, we are not going to the parks, as we are hoping not to spend more than 450 including room and rental car while we are there. What are some cannot miss things? We will be staying at as movies or pop.

Visiting each of the resorts to see how they are decorated for the holidays is a lot of fun. The problem will be getting from one resort to the other. Getting around by car could be rough at that time of year, so I would rely on Disney transportation.

I would begin with taking a bus to the MK and walking from there to CR. Then, catch the monorail to the Poly, followed by the GF. Then take the boat over to the MK and grab the resort launch to WL. From there, take a bus to DHS and walk to the BWI. You can either walk from there or take a boat to YC/BC. Don't forget to check the S/D while you're in the neighborhood. Go back to DHS and catch a bus to AKL/AKV (both Jambo and Kidani).

If at all possible, take in Downtown Disney as well. Perhaps do some window shopping or get something to eat. You can get a bus back to your resort from there.

Another great idea is to take an evening run through FW. Many of the campers really do their campsites up for the holidays!

Search for hidden Mickeys among the decorations. You'll be surprised at the creative ways that they are made.

Yes, definitely visit the resorts to admire decorations. I would also recommend even going to the park entrances as there are great decorations and huge trees out front to take pics in front of! The best resorts are the Grand Floridian (gingerbread house), Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House. DTD is decorated throughout as well. And if you want a small taste of magic, our favourite thing to do is find a lounge chair on the Polynesian beach and watch Wishes from there (they pipe in the music too). Enjoy!

What an AWESOME plan! I don't foresee a Christmas visit for a few years, but this resort decoration viewing tour is pretty cool!
