Disney for 11yr old DS

Hi everyone,

My son is turning 12 and wants to go to Disney. So, as a surprise, I am trying to plan a 4 day vacation in the summer.

What restaurant would be good for either breakfast or lunch for his age? I'm thinking of a character restuarant.

My son is 12 and he still enjoys Chef Mickey's (Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy) and Ohana breakfast (Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, Pluto). As long as you don't take him to Crystal Palace (Pooh & Friends) he should be fine.

Best bet is to start with the full list of character meals and work backwards.

The typical 11-12 year old boy likely won't be interested in Princesses (scratch CRT, Akerhaus, and 1900 Park Fare), Pooh (Crystal Palace), or Playhouse Disney (Hollywood & Vine).

Since you've excluded dinner, that eliminates Garden Grill (Chip & Dale appear at dinner only) and Garden Grove dinners (Goofy & Pluto or Timon & Rafiki) [however, breakfast is available with Goofy & Pluto on Sat/Sun only!].

That leaves a pretty short list, and all for breakfast only: Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Cape May, O'hana, and Garden Grove (Sat/Sun only).

I have two DS's who are now 13 1/2 & 12 1/2 and Donald's Safari breakfast at Tusker House has always been their favorite. It's the only character meal they ask to go back to.

I know you are looking for character meals but ny DS loves the Sci-Fi Dine In. He thinks the old sci-fi movies are cool.

For character meals he likes Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill and Cape May.

My 10 yo DS loves Chef Mickeys and O'hanas.

And I agree with the pp about Sci-Fi and he also loves 50's Primetime and Le Cellier too.

I second the Tusker House breakfast. That is our favorite, and the food is really good. I would also suggest O'Hana. I guess it depends on which characters your son likes.
