We are having an intimate wedding and would like to have some additional floral at our ceremony. I spoke to Rosie on June 2. I've emailed her many, many times asking for a quote. Each time, she responds that she will have my quote/proposal that week. Our wedding is in December and we're trying to finalize our budget.

We are 98% set with using an outside florist. I want to know what Disney can do, though. It is possible that they can provide a more budget friendly proposal (unlikely, but possible!). The main reason for using an outside florist, beyond cost, is that we have not heard from Rosie. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about her, but continuously telling someone they will get a quote and not providing it is unprofessional in my opinion.

I can't imagine that DFTW or Disney Florist thinks people can just come up with money. Everyone is on a budget no matter what the size.

What I'd really like to know is if any other Intimate December brides have received their floral proposal from Rosie? I apologize for the rant, but I'm really frustrated!

I had a custom wedding with Rose as my floral designer. She was often pretty slow in getting back to me. Like you, I'd heard nothing but good things about her, so I didn't worry about it too much. But... I was disappointed with my flowers at my wedding. I really didn't like my centerpieces--they weren't at all what I wanted or expected. And the rest of the flowers were just o.k., certainly not spectacular. Other things like the linens, chargers, and napkins were very nice, though.

So my personal opinion would be to go with your gut and use an outside vendor who may be easier to work with and will work to give you exactly what you want. Also, if you can find someone who will show you samples (preferably for free!) ahead of time, I'd recommend that, too. I sort of wish I'd spent the $300+ it would have cost to see a mock-up of a table ahead of time. At least then I would have had a chance to try to change Rose's design to something I'd like.

What types of additional floral are you looking for?

I got an idea of prices from her on email, but I didn't receive everything all together, an actual "proposal" on paper for floral until this Monday, two weeks after I got my BEO. From my experience with Rosie, she's been really nice and helpful. For me, since we only wanted a few additional floral items, the convenience of Disney floral played a big part in going with them over an outside vendor (one less thing to worry about). This is what I have been told:

-Adding additional shades to your bouquet will be an extra $50.00 (this is for intimate, since the bouquet is included in the package).

-For the BM's they can do a smaller petite bouquet of about 7 roses for $50.00 or 12 roses for $75.00. The normal size bridesmaids bouquet is 20 roses for $125.00

-I also requested rose petals on the sides of the aisle. The cost for the petals along the edges of the aisle is a bit more than if you had rose petals just down the center, since they use more roses. It is about $50.00 per side, so $100.00 total.

That's all I really know about because that's all I asked about! Hope it helps a little. :)

Just to clear things up, Rosie is the Escape wedding floral contact, and she works out of her home. Rose is the Wishes wedding floral person, and she works out of the Florida office.

Jasonandlisa - thanks for the candid review of your flowers. I too am wishing I could see a mockup rather than just crossing my fingers and hoping everything looks right on my wedding day...

Oh!! Thank you so much lurkyloo for the clarification!! I've seen Rose & Rosie mentioned in so many posts--I always just assumed they were the same. I hope others see your post here, so that there's less confusion in the future. And good luck getting exactly what you want for your wedding!!! I hope your flowers are perfect. As for the mockup, I was told that they're happy to do it but that they charge the same as what they'll charge for a table at your reception.

Thanks for letting me know that! It seems that people are receiving their proposal at 1 month out. I can't wait until I'm 1 month out. We are doing a lot of extra floral. We are having floral at the ceremony (2 side arrangements, 1 floral ring, petals on the sides, plus bouts and corsages), California Grill (3 centerpieces, runners for table, petals, confetti), and dessert party (small arrangements). That's a lot of floral that we have to budget for. Unfortunately some things, like the columns and DP floral, we are going to have to get from Disney.

Do you know who is in charge of the floral on your wedding day? I know Rosie works out of Ohio so she can't be at every wedding.
