Disney Flamingo Crossings

Does anybody have info on Disney Flamingo Crossings?

All that I know is that it will be a tourist district located near Western Way and the Western Beltway that will have hotels,restaurants and retail not run by Disney although Disney will probably have the right to decide things like their designs.I've seen pictures of the area with the streets finished with street lights and landscaping but no developments built yet.

The project was announced in 2007, I think, and expected to take 8 to 10 years to fully develop. I suspect that the deep economic recession wasn't part of the formula that went into that time estimate so it shouldn't be a surprise if it takes much longer or plans are scaled back some. I haven't been over that way for a while but I think they've finished some primary landscaping and roadwork for the core area of the development region.

Anyone seen or heard of any new nws about Flamingo Crossings

I drove by it about 3 weeks ago and all it was is a short roadway entrance leading to a field which looks like it was cleared a while ago. I think there were a few road lights and a "coming soon, call this phone number for leasing" sign. If I didn't know better I would say it looked abandoned.
