Disney First Time

This is our first time to Disney and we booked a condo nearby because we have two small girls. My question is twofold:
1. Can we still purchase a breakfast/lunch at Cinderella's castle even if we are not staying on property?
2. We will be in Disney the first week of May. Is it too late to make reservations for the character breakfast/lunch since they indicate I should make the reservations 180 days in advance.
Did I goof?

I am no expert but I will try to help
1. yes you can
2. I believe it will be hard but it is worth a try, they say lunch is easier to get so you may want to try that. I would call right away, and if you can not get an ADR you can call back to see if someone cancels.

You can make reservations at any WDW restaurant, whether you are staying on-site or off-site. I would definitely make those ADRs right now - you might not get everything you want but you will be able to make reservations. Have some back ups and you should be fine.

If you can't get the castle try 1900 Park Fare's CInderella's Gala Feast or one of the Princess Storybook Meals (B,L, or D) at Norway in EPCOT. Some other good restaurants with little ones are Ohana (B or D), Chef Mickeys (B or D), Crystal Palace (B, L, or D) Liberty Tree Tavern (D), Sci-Fi (L). Have fun picking and good luck.

You shouldn't really have any issues booking your meals...might just have to be a little more flexible on the times.

With the price increase at CRT it has been MUCH easier to get in.

I just booked a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's in June. No problem. The number to reserve is 407-wdw-dine. Good luck.
