Hi everyone,

My OH is planning on taking me to disney for my 30th in May. He's trying to get more disney savvy and I think a dvd night / weekend is in order. Which films do you think are essential viewing in conjunction with a DLP trip?

Any thoughts?

Thanks x

All of them! This is the hardest question hah but in terms of DLP's themes go -

Sleeping Beauty
Toy Story
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Lilo and Stitch

...there's too many!!

I agree with TheMermaidPrincess,

I'd also add on there snow white (as there's a ride for it).
Also Ratatouille seeing as they've very recently dedicated a whole area of the studios park to that film. Perhaps finding nemo too? But I do agree I'd watch as many of them as possible to really get you in the mood. Luckily you have plenty of time to fit them in :)

Ratatouille for the new ride and also Lilo and stitch and Nemo for their rides

Is there a ride for Lilo and Stitch? I'm not familiar with their story though after a couple of visits I do recognise them?

There's the Stitch Live show which can be quite funny - check the times for the English version

Ah, thanks - I was struggling to think of a ride - never thought of a show. :)

No, we haven't seen it. We did Disney Playhouse live and sister struggled with it so I gave stitch live a miss. When I take my grandson in a year's time I will definitely be taking him to that. :)

What I did for DLR was get a map and base the films on what rides there are in those parks

Watch The Little Mermaid! I was at Disney a month ago and I absolutely loved the new Ariel Ride in New Fantasyland. It is the only ride in the whole resort that follows the film EXACTLY. My sister and I sang along to every song, yes they played every song from the movie:)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
The Island at the Top of the World
The Haunted Mansion
Swiss Family Robinson
Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Cars
Toy Story
Ratatouille

no its not :).

We have just done this, my DD's best friend is coming with us to DLP on her first Disney trip ever next month, so we had a DVD night last night - so far, we've watched Peter Pan, Mulan, Alice in Wonderland, Brave, and Hercules (nothing to do with DLP, but its one of our favourite Disney films).

In the mix for future viewing is -
Princess & the Frog,
Tangled
Aladdin
Ratatouille (of course)
Pocahontas (another household favourite)
The Nightmare before Christmas
Cars
Frozen
Toy Story (all 3 movies)
Beauty & the Beast
Finding Nemo
Jungle Book
and if we still had the DVDs, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty would be in there too (both very relevant for DLP).
