Disney Figurine Collection! Good Idea?

So my mother is coming up from Florida to visit and says she is bringing me an empty curio cabinet because she has no use for it.

So I automatically get the incredible urge to collect things to fill it up

I was looking on the disney store and saw that they sell disney figurines, so cute!

They are a little pricey, though..

What do you guys think? Good investment and a fun collection or a waste of time and money?

Anywhere I can find some for a more humble price?

Any advice or opinions appreciated, thanks!


BTW, I'm thinking of having themed sections per shelf on the cabinet, like have the original like mickey, minnie, donald, goofy on one shelf and the next have disney princesses, and so on. Good idea?

When you say "figurines" do you mean the Walt Disney Classic Collection pieces or something else? The Classic Collection pieces are really nice, but can get expensive to collect. I don't know about the "good investment" criteria because my guess is that few will significantly appreciate in value. However, if you like them and would enjoy having them in your house, then go for it!

Yes those are the ones I am talking about, I apologize for not being specific.
I'm just wondering if they gain value over the years.
