Who else still has fingers crossed for their 2021 cruise!? We sail on the Merrytime cruise November 6-11. I’m eager with the news of the test cruise In June 🤞🏻.

I also anxiously check my GTY everyday hoping a room will pop up 😂. This will be our honeymoon cruise with our two kids, 3 and 12. And our first merry time cruise! We’ve experienced WDW at Christmas but not the cruise at Christmas. (Previously sailed on the Dream.) Any must know tips for this particular sailing?

We're on the Fantasy the week before you (10/30-11/6) Halloween sailing. I"m cautiously optimistic that it's going to happen.

We’re December 2021 and I’m ALMOST 100% it will go. The CSO ends November 1 and if the pandemic keeps dropping cases like it has been lately and we work harder on global vaccination….it won’t be extended. :)

I’m holding on to this as well! Of course I hate we’re right on the brink of it in case they would choose to extend. But hopefully not.

I gave up on my nov 2021 cruises and moved them into 2022. I don’t want to do masks. We are all vaccinated from 14 to 70. Ready to cruise.
I can understand that. We’ve had that convo back and forth as well. We hate not to go, but the thought of having to wear masks on a cruise isn’t real appealing either. We’ll have to make a decision closer to when we have a better idea of regulations.

The beauty of a cruise is that there isn't much preparation needed. Just enjoy yourselves! If they allow photos with characters by that time, be sure to check the Navigator for specific times that they'll be dressed up in Christmas gear so you can get holiday-themed photos. They won't be dressed up for Christmas all the time.

We are on the 8 night in October. People are feeling confident in the sailing to buy airfare now. I think things will be close to normal by then!

I know. We have 4 cruises booked for 2022. We are starting to think our cruise days are over. With husband being a recent cancer survivor and we made the effort to get vaccinated as platinum cruisers we have no plans to travel with unvaccinated cruisers. It was fun while it lasted but not worth the risk.

I'm sure there will be some lines and/or itineraries that require vaccination. You'll probably be able to get back out there eventually.

I hope so! We didn’t buy airline tickets due to fear of it being moved or choosing not to go just depending. So we’re making the dreaded 16 hr drive (with stops) instead 😩. It’ll be worth it once we get there though.

I didn’t realize they wouldn’t be in Christmas gear all the time! Good to know!

It's kind of based on logic, what they'll be dressed like. On Pirate Night, they wear pirate gear. Formal night, formal clothes. On Castaway Cay and on the pool deck they wear beach clothes. Inside the ship when no special events are occuring, they'll mostly be wearing holiday gear when you're on a Merrytime cruise.

Just thought I'd mention it in advance because I once read a post from a woman who got really mad that she didn't get pics of every single character in holiday gear (which was her main reason for cruising- I know, weird), because she waited too long and didn't take special occasions into account.

I think I’m alittle too laid back to get mad if we missed them. But I appreciate mentioning it knowing we’d like to take advantage of the option.

We’re on the Fantasy on 11/6 with you! I’m cautiously optimistic that it will go, but I’m not planning on keeping it unless my 8 and 10 year olds can be vaxed by then. I’ve got my fingers crossed they’ll be vaxed and we’ll be able to sail. I do however have two backups in case it doesn’t go. I have a 3 night Merrytime in December on the off chance we miss it by a month, either the kids’ vaxes or DCL resuming in December. I also have a 4 night double dip booked in March since we were really looking forward to that sailing being a double dip. So if the 11/6 one is canceled we’ll go on one or both of the backups depending on the situation. In the last couple weeks I’ve really started to feel optimistic that the original one will go though 🤞🏻🤞🏻

That will be the hardest part! Coughing up that double dip! Smart to book the other as well just in case. There’s not too many opportunities to get those without spending an entire life savings. We did snag the Disney Wish next August, so maybe that will be enough to appease me if it doesn’t work out, but I’ll still be sad lol.

Same here. It’s tough to plan right now, but i do know masks are a deal breaker for us.

NYE cruise out of Galveston is on our schedule. I think it will most likely go... but, I want to hear/see what things will be like. Some modifications are fine by us. Too much, I will wait. We just did WDW with the relaxed mask policy-wearing them only when indoors or in line. It was ok. We aren't anit-mask. But it wasn't great either. Off, then on. People needing to be reminded. It was fine, but just ok. In a state that the mask mandate has recently been dropped for vaccinated people, I must admit, I enjoy not wearing it. But I wear one when required by a business etc. Our family is fully vaxxed, some of us had covid. When I spend the $$$ for this cruise, I want it to be fun, with as little of a reminder of what we have all been through. I am not sure how happy I would be to go back to wearing a mask full time, on my cruise after having a taste of not having to wear one full time anymore. I want to be able to relax, like I used to on our cruises. We shall see. I think everyone has a comfort level that they need to find.
