Hey all,

I've seen some extraordinarily detailed trip reports. They've been helpful. I'll do what I can...

The travelers, myself, Male, 45, along with DW, and DD (5 years old). We booked fairly last minute (about 5 weeks before the cruise) still got a pretty reasonable price for an Inside Guarantee Stateroom. I checked about 6 days before the cruise and saw that we had been assigned room 9011. (this is our 2nd Disney Cruise, we did the Disney Magic 4 night Bahamas last year). We cruised once on the Norwegian Sun and DW has been on a couple of RC ships years ago.

We're from Burlington, ON, Canada, so we booked flights from Buffalo to MCO. Based on sound advise we flew down on 2/6 (the day before embarkation). Rented a car at MCO through Budget (get the Fastbreak membership to avoid lines) and stayed at the Country Inn in Orlando. We spent the day and night in Orlando, and drove to Port Canaveral in the morning. (I think we left Orlando around 10, our embarkation was due for 12:15). Drive was uneventful, arrived at Budget in PC at around 11. Loooooong lines here for the shuttle to PC (we expected as much). People were absolutely losing their minds. They have to understand this is vacation. The boat is not going to leave for hours, and you just have to chill a bit. I think there were 3 fairly big ships in Port that day. We ended up waiting for about 45 minutes for the shuttle. Some people called cabs, but a couple of the cabs ended up arriving at the same time as our shuttle. The Budget people are doing the best they can with the amount of people that crush that little office.

Arrived at the terminal about 12:10 (right on time). Basically no line up to get registered and get on the ship (open boarding, they didn't have to call any groups). Welcomed by family name and applause and on we go!

As advised the first thing to do was go directly to the Port Adventures Desk to get Anna/Elsa and Princess Ball tickets. Princess Ball was 1st sea day, and A/E was 2nd. Then proceeded to Kids club to get bracelet (I had already pre-registered DD online). They had several Kids Club staff throughout the Kids Club set up to sign DD in so that was painless. Walked around kids club a bit, it's kind of like the one on the Magic, but bigger, and doesn't have Avengers Academy (but does have a lot more theme rooms. Split up into Oceaneer's club and Oceaneer's lab.

Dropped off carry on suitcases to room 9011. Reasonably roomy. Magic Porthole, which my DD never got tired of. Not too bad for storage when you hung everything up, used the drawers in the desk, and we stored DD's clothes in the coffee table. I miss having the dresser that we had on the Magic (we had a balcony room then). Also, this room did not have a split bathroom, it was all in one. Didn't really notice the difference though, but might be inconvenient with 4 people?

Went to lunch. I know Cabanas was open, but I heard it's a bit more chilled out at Enchanted Garden, so we went there. Got seated, and had a nice buffet.

I'm following your report.

We were on the Fantasy in Dec. 2014 ( Eastern ) and had the best cruise ever. We are going back to the Fantasy in April 2016 to celebrate my GS's birthday only this time I hope he will go to the club. Last time he was so exited and enthralled with everything new he didn't want to stop.

Greetings from a fellow Canadian, following as well. We were on Fantasy 17-24 Jan 2015 (my TR is in progress). Glad to hear your travel days went well.

looking forward to our cruise in October. Have not booked yet, waiting for taxes to come in. Hope there are cabins left.

ON same cruise. It'll be interesting to read to help me remember and look at pictures.

So after lunch we wandered around the ship, went up to the pool deck, I think met a character or 2, and went back to the cabin to get dressed for the Sail Away Party. Luggage was at our cabin, so we unpacked and headed up to Deck 11. Nice Sail Away party with the Dance Crew for a while, then Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Chip n Dale I think. Then dance party time. My DD loves to dance so this was a nice kick off to the trip. When this wrapped up went back to change for dinner.

Dinner for our first night was at Royal Court for 8:15 (since we didn't book the cruise until late 2nd seating was the only available) DCL did a great job of matching us up with a couple from Orlando travelling with their 5 year old daughter, just like ours. Service was very slow this night (it got better later in the cruise), but I got a couple of lukewarm courses, and overall the meal was just kind of average. Our server was Putra from Indonesia, and he apologized for the slow service and disorganization the first night. We didn't wrap up dinner till around 10, so went back to the cabin and to sleep after a long day. Ocean was a bit bumpy the first night. Kind of hard to get to sleep. Not a whole lot of up and down swells, but some side to side which were a bit annoying.

1st Sea Day we woke up and checked our navigator to plan our day. Also checked the Navigator App on my Iphone, which was really awesome. You got to easily sort out which characters were where, and you could easily navigate from dining to activities, to characters. Highly recommend the app. I got the 50mb connect@sea free package on the first day but with some facebook updates we were going to need some data so I bought the $40 300mb package. (you didn't need data to use the app, btw).

Breakfast at Cabanas was good with a lot of variety for all. Weather was very nice. We had the scheduled Princess meet at 10am so headed to the lobby for that. Very quick to get some nice pictures of Cinderella, Ariel, Tiana, and Jasmine. Worked out well because last year we didn't have Ariel or Jasmine on the Magic.

Lunch at Cabanas, and after that DD wanted to go to Kids Club, DW and I took advantage of the time to go to the Adult Pool. Pretty quiet there, maybe a dozen or so people hanging out. The pool was 5'5'' deep. Got to hang out there for a while. DW enjoyed the hot tub. We went to get some sun on deck 12, but didn't stay too long up there b/c it was quite windy.

After a few hours picked up DD from Kid's club which she said she really enjoyed. She was playing in the Toy Story room and on the computer stations. I think we stopped to meet a couple more characters and then went back to the cabin to get dressed for the show.

Show for the night was Aladdin. DD got pretty scared at the beginning when Aladdin was going into the cave so we had to leave. She does get a bit skittish with scary things. So we used the time to meet more characters and walk around.

A couple of the Disney Junior characters were there that day, so DD got to see Doc McStuffins and Sofia.

Dinner for night #2 was at Enchanted Garden. The service then was much better and the food was really good as well. After dinner went to the D Lounge where there was a family Dance party going on. Back to the room afterwards.

2nd sea day, again a bit of a bumpy sleep but nothing too bad. Breakfast at Cabanas, a couple of character meets, then we were scheduled to meet Anna and Elsa. They were set up in Animators Palate, so they were able to have the whole place decorated in a Frozen theme. DD had a great time. Anna especially was very interactive. Afterward had lunch at Cabanas then got on swimsuits and headed up to deck 12. Above the adult pool there is the Funnel Wading Pool. DD is not a strong swimmer, so being able to play in 18 inches of water was good for her. She had a chance to play with some other little girls there. One of them had princess bath toys so that led to tons of enjoyment. Spent th afternoon up there, then back yo the room to get ready for the show.

This show caused less drama (can't remember if it was called Dreams or Wishes or something similar. Lots of familiar Disney songs and characters. Dinner for this night was Animators Palate. They did a cool little interactive bit with the fish and the turtle from Finding Nemo. I think the main this night was prime rib, which was awesome. DD didn't feel like kids club so we watched a couple of Disney Jr. Shows on demand in the cabin.
