Just wanted to share that the Food Network is having a Wedding weekend and they will be playing the Disney Fairytale Weddings show three times; Saturday at 4:00p and 11:00p. Then it's on Sunday at 2:00a.

This show features the cute mini-wedding cakes and the Cinderella slippers too.

Two of the brides are DIS members (the one with the orange wedding with the mini-cakes and the couple that get engaged at Victoria & Albert's).

Were one those couples the one who are both stage actors and whose wedding appeared to run more money than the national deficit?

Oh my! Could you believe that couple and their wedding?? :faint:

No, that couple from NY, as far as I know, are not DISers!! It was the engaged couple and the orange wedding couple, who are, or at least were when the show first premiered, DISers.

It sounds mean, but I swear they agreed to have the cameras follow them around just to show off. The taste testing in the kitchen with all the different meals. Cinderella's coach taking the bride. 100 guests. Characters at the ceremony. The hotel room at the Grande Floridian.

My wife and I were watching that with 2 very different reactions.

My wife: What a beautiful wedding. They'll remember this forever.

Me: What a complete waste of money. They'll be paying this off for the rest of their lives.

I know what you mean. Although I thought it was a beautiful, dream wedding, it did seem a bit too much. A waste of money.

The bride sure came off as a spoiled princess too. I remember when it first aired many around here thought the same thing.

I actually have it taped and watched it this morning and all I could think was I wonder if they're even still married! :teeth:

I'd tell you what I thought of her, but this is a family board. If that were my wife, I would have left her there and married Minnie Mouse.

Okay, you two have really got me interested. Now I HAVE to Tivo it! Thanks for the heads up Beattyfamily!

Thanks for letting us know!!! I get to add to my "library" of WDW!!!

Did anyone catch the final price tag on that extravaganza (sorry I can't call it a wedding I mean come on)??? I was yapping to my DM and missed the final price tag.

We just caught the second half but I did hear the price tag. It came to a whopping $70,000. I couldn't believe that but to each his or her own.

I just wanted to point out that Tara and Ricky (the $70,000 couple) may have been 'given' some of their special things for the Food Network Special. I know for a fact that Ann and Michael (the orange couple) were given several special things for free, just because Disney wanted those things to be shown on the show.

I have no doubt that some of it was comp'd by Disney and some of the tab picked up by the Food Network, thats the nature of the business, best commercial for Disney Weddings.

I couldn't agree more with these statements. I kept thinking to myself, what a spoiled brat she is! She sure didn't have a problem spending daddy's money, did she?

I thought the same thing. Also, how could they afford that on two actor's salaries?

Just got done watching it. Father of the bride was starting to look a bit pale in the kitchen when Tara decided that she wanted all 3 entrees at the reception. LOL The wedding was very beautiful, but I've been to weddings that were just as beautiful (minus Mickey) that didn't come near $70,000! I love Disney, but the characters to me seemed to take the maturity and sacredness out of such a serious and important event. Just my opinion.

I could be wrong but I don't think too much of that stuff was comped. I believe (but once again I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first or last time) that the only thing the Orange wedding were comped was the mini castle cakes.... I think I remember reading that the first time the show aired when she came on the weddings board and talked about it. They were both beautiful weddings though. I do agree the one was soo spoiled and you know Daddy got the bill for that one.

Poor pop, I am starting to feel his pain as we near the date, although we are only doing an intimate. I can't imagine paying for the wedding that Tara so easily planned. No shame!

I caught it just in time to record it. My goodness, don't the taste testing couple look YOUNG!?!

darnit! i read this thread at 1:54am...Central, almost broke my neck running to my tivo...to find out Central, it started at 1am. Did get to see the couple (the guy was kinda cute in a hippy peace out dude kinda way)..but she was a tart LOL! ummm excuse me.....70k? 2k for the characters for an hour or so?....FISH, CHICKEN OR BEEF? She had to have 300 meals prepared for 100 people since no one knew what anyone would want to order???? S'cuse me grandma, were having CHICKEN...EVERYONE LIKES CHICKEN... LOL!

OMG...that cake. wonder how much that cake cost? I know it wasnt 800.00...much much more than that..and it looked like it would feed 400 people. not to mention everyone got a slipper dessert too?

Ok..so maybe im a wee bit jealous. just a wee bit. Hag. Pretty cool if your daddy's rich or your hubby's a rock star.
