Disney Faces Designs

Those are awesome, Maria! I saved the link for the tutorial, but I haven't had a chance to play yet. I love what you are doing!

I love it too Maria!! Any time you'd like to do, say a boy's name, say something like Matthew :teeth: I'd love to see it!

Here's one for Matthew:

As you can see from the next design, I think shorter names do work better. I don't know if he goes by Matt, but here's one anyway.

Hopefully you can find some time to take a peek at the tutorial, so you can come out and play. The possibilites for word and picture combinations are endless!

Thank you so much Maria! I love it and I agree with you - Matt does look better than Matthew. I can't wait to show him!

I'm glad you like it, Marti! Let me know if there's a different theme you'd like!

Here are a couple for Disney Cruisers . . .

Maria they look great.

If you get a chance can you do Olivia with all the princess

Great job Maria! I really like Jack :teeth:

Beautiful work Maria!

I see in an earlier post you mentioned you use Elements. I have Elements 4.0 but am unsure about how to get the Outer glow to do different colours. I see you have managed to get it to use different colours, can you let me in on the secret?

Thnx

Oh Jennifer! I spent a good part of last night searching for the right picture! The effect works best if the faces are all lined up across the page. You won't believe how many pictures there are with the princesses NOT lined up across the page, and the pictures that I did find were not big enough.

If anyone has a large picture of all the princesses lined up with their faces at about the same level, please please PM me! I would love to make more names with all the princesses.

I did make one after all, but I am not happy with the quality of the picture. I will keep working on this, and PM you with the image when I find the right background. I wish it had turned out better!! ( I'm a bit of a perfectionist  )

It's so funny that you should ask me this question because I was wondering the very same thing (and may even pay $ for the answer). Though it looks like I've changed the colour on some of the designs, I ,in fact, didn't. I think it only looks that way based on the background I used.

If anyone knows the answer to how to change the colours on the outer glow, please enlighten us. It seems like such a simple thing to do, but for some reason I haven't figured it out either.

I hope so, too! Your designs (as always) are soooo good! Nursery school starts tomorrow (I did orientations today). Once we get going, I hope to find a little extra time to play. I haven't designed since I came back from WDW.

I was hoping that you knew a secret about changing the outer glow, but I guess not. It does look different with the different colored backgrounds.

Those anyone knows how to do this effect with PhotoImpact. I have been trying but can't seem to get it right. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Well I think I figured it out (well I actually I found a spot online to teach me). Apparently it isn't such an easy thing to do (like just changing the palette colour).

You actually have to create a secondary layer and colour that in then use Gaussian Blur and put your final copy as an overlay.

Here is a version I did with your "wordmark" technique of my daughter's name (which actually means 'From the fairy fort') and I exaggerated the background colour for effect.

Now for the link to instructions I found online ...

Thanks for showing us your technique! Gonna make some door magnets with that technique for our upcoming Disney Cruise in November!

As for your Princess dilemma - what about simply getting individual pictures of the Princesses and putting them in a line on a pink background and going from there?

Excellent!! Thanks for sharing the secret. I wish it was an easier solution! I'll have to read up on the tutorial after work tonight.

As for the princess idea, that's exactly what I did to make the original Disney Faces design I posted. It may be the only way to get an appropriate picture that will work with this type of design. As you've probably experienced already, not every picture and every word works for this type of design!! The hardest part will be finding large clipart of the princesses' faces. It's a project I want to do very soon (so many things on my mental list of things to do)!

By the way , the design looks absolutely wonderful!!! I would love to see more!!

Gotta got to work now! I'll be around later tonight :)

You guys are SOOOO talented!!!! I love these designs!!!! I am not good at designing to say the LEAST!!!
