Apologies if this has been posted already, I just can't be bothered to trawl through the threads regarding Disney Express Service to see. :coffee:

I called Disneyland today to enquire about booking room only (first time ever, isn't it wonderful when they put you on hold and play Disney music down the phone?). Sadly she wasn't able to give me discounted rates at this stage :sad1:

Anyway, the helpful lady I spoke to mentioned that if you book a Disney hotel direct with them, and then go off and book Eurostar independently (e.g get a better deal, or use air miles, or something), then you can pay £10 per person and take advantage of the Disney Express service.

Maybe this would be useful for someone? :goodvibes

Also, she quoted me £306 for myself and DD (15) on Eurostar, which I felt was a bit steep. I called Eurostar to see if they are booking for next Easter as yet, they aren't as yet due to the changes in timetables. However, I was able to register with them, and I should get a call from them within a few weeks when they are ready to book. I am optimistic that I might get a good price, I've priced up flights for next Easter and about the cheapest I could get it down to was £160, for the two of us. On top of this you have airport transfers, and we would prefer to travel by Eurostar anyway, I do feel it's swings and roundabouts when you work out the total cost.

I'm sure that will be welcome news regarding the option to purchase Disney Express, many thanks :goodvibes

Me and the missus find disney express overated......we have found that you can get off the train, get to your hotel, check in and be at the parks whithin 45 minutes..........plus i dont see the point of leaving all your unpacking til when you get back from the parks in the evening. we used it the very first time, never again.

That's interesting Annette, I have read elsewhere that someone said it was possible to purchase return journey Express tickets for £5 each at the hotel reception but have never tried it.

The first time we went I was a little disappointed we couldn't use it but to be honest we'd rather go to our hotel and check-in first anyway before hitting the parks so I don't think I'd bother now.

I prefer travelling by Eurostar too, but we are flying next time because it worked out cheaper. It will be interesting to see which we prefer after we have returned home ~ the Eurostar won't seem quite so attractive once it's moved to St Pancras and we have to travel across London to Waterloo on the return leg. :sad2:

stonfiesta, going straight to your hotel only works if your room is ready when you get there :lmao:

Ware Bears, I have yet to find flights that were particularly cheap for us, cheapest so far are £160 in total for the two of us (Easter 2008), you then have to add to that the transfer cost. I suspect this is because we are in the South of England so have to fly out of London or Southampton (which doesn't seem any cheaper).

I am also not happy about the move to St Pancras, however I am investigating Ebbfleet as an alternative station, as this is closer to us than Ashford International. Getting to the Eurostar at this end might be a little more inconvenient than before, but if the cost is about the same then I would prefer the convenience at the other end :cutie:
