On Monday, March 15th at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, there will be a pre-opening screening of the upcoming Disney documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty, along with a Q&A with Don Hahn, Patrick Pacheco and Peter Schneider. Tickets are $10 day of, and an extra $1.50 if bought in advance. The only other cities I know of having this kind of event are LA, DC, and Philadelphia. Here is the link to the event website: http://www.wakingsleepingbeautytix.com/ and the link to MoMA's site: http://www.moma.org./visit/calendar/2010/03/15

I am planning to go. I picked up my tickets to day (plus I got tickets for the film screening of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, as part of the Tim Burton exhibit - it was only an extra $1.50 for the second film ticket). My wife has told me that she is in no way interested and sent me on my own. Anyone else want to go? Shall we make an intimate DIS meet out of this unique Disney event?

(BTW, I cannot understand why events like this aren't D23. I'm happy about that, but wouldn't promoting this event for the D23 members in NY, Philly, and DC make them more pleased about joining D23? There are so many events in LA & Orlando... And in case you noticed, the LA event is for Disney Movie Rewards members only. Wha????)

Okay... Guess I'm goin' by myself! I'll post a review afterwards.

Thanks for posting this!

I can't make it to NYC but I'm going to try to catch the showing here in Philadelphia.

Today is movie day! Can't wait. I'm looking forward to WSB, but I'm totally pumped for "Icahbod & Mr. Toad"! I never saw the film, but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (RIP) was always my favorite attraction in Fantasyland at WDW growing up. Now I get to see it for the first time on the big screen (not IMAX 3D, though).

Counting down the hours...

Lucky! I'm so jealous! I'm just dying to see this documentary.

Have a great time! Can't wait to hear your review. :)

After kicking myself for letting the Sherman Brothers documentary "The Boys" come and go without seeing it, I wasn't going to let this one get away from me.

Thanks for the heads up! :thumbsup2
I knew about NYC getting the movie- but had no idea that Philadelphia would get a screening as well.
I just bought tickets for Phila for 3/31. Can't wait to hear how you liked it.

Wow. What an amazing night. So glad I caught this.

Full review to follow. Stay tuned.
