Disney Employee Handbook from 1943

I do miss the days of the men's only club at work... :snooty: ;) :rolleyes1

I couldn't read a lot of it. My eyes are getting old.

I'd be happy if they brought these rules back.

The men can have their Penthouse club. I'll take double the sick leave, thanks!

How cool...thanks for sharing.

I couldn't read much either...I hate getting older. ;)

Thanks for sharing.

Wow! The graphics are quite.....well, graphic! I've never known anyone who rocks a skirt and sweater like the cartoon! Well, maybe Jessica Rabbit. :happytv:

Love the reminder that "we are at war" and any violation of the Espionage Act is grounds for dismissal!

Talk about leering!! haha I work for a labor law attorney and he got a kick out of it also. :lmao: As for the double sick days for ladies, I wonder what their justification was.

A paternalistic belief that women were "sick" or needed more time off than men. That wasn't usual for the time. Even after the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (which banned discrimination because of sex) many companies and government employers continued to provide greater benefits to women.

It was 2005 before Tennessee amended its maternity leave statute to permit males to take "maternity" leave. Before then, the statue only applied to "female employees."
