Disney Eggs Questions

When I was at Disney a few years back I ate eggs every day at Wilderness Lodge. I also tried them at Chef Mickey's. Wilderness Lodge's eggs were significantly better (more real tasting and more flavorful). Why would they differ? I've read on the internet they are liquid eggs. I've also read by some posters they contain soy and milk. By soy do they mean there is actual soy added to the eggs or the chickens were fed soy? I wouldn't think Disney would use any kind of milk in their eggs given how many people have problems with it. Does anybody know for a matter of fact what is in the eggs ?

Also, I know they are cage free in the US Disney parks, but wouldn't it be nice if someday they were pasture raised too? I know I will get a lot of laughing reactions from members on here (my requests for healthier food at Disney always does) but maybe it could happen someday.

I can't speak to Disney specifically, but I know that adding milk to scrambled eggs is actually pretty common, it makes them fluffier and creamier.

It is common, but I don’t think Disney would do it with all the allergy and food accommodations they have going on.

Agree! As an adult who became lactose intolerant at the age of 48 I too appreciate eggs without milk! Plus Gordon Ramsey says it’s best for fluff to use a tsp of water per egg!

Less calories too! We have always used water in scrambled eggs.

Since Disney buys in bulk, I would say whatever egg product they use (whether regular eggs or a processed egg product) is the same across the property. At the very least I would expect all TS restaurants to have the same product, but they could use a different product at QS or buffet restaurants. Then each restaurant will put their own spin on it, whether adding milk or water, using oil or butter, any spices or flavorings, etc. Taste and texture would also be affected by the cooking utensils (griddle, fry pan, etc.) as well as the person cooking it (some may slightly undercook, some slightly overcook). Buffet eggs sitting on a steam table will very likely taste different than a la carte eggs freshly prepared even if both are made with the same base product.

Interestingly when we were there in Sept at Gran Destino Tower, I went to the QS and asked for Mickey waffles and if they could do overeasy eggs because I don’t do dairy (not allergic, just causes inflammation when I eat too much) and he said I could ask for the scrambled “without sour cream and butter”. I would not have guessed it’s sour cream but that’s what the chef said. It makes me wonder what is in it for real if anyone knows for a fact.
