I have scoured high and low and cannot find any info. Does anyone know where/who I should call or write to see if Disney does a congratulatory letter for those who have become Eagle Scouts? Considering the money we have spent there in the last 17 years....I think a piece of paper would be nice (LOL!) :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry, I don't have an answer you. I never heard of this before. Is it something that large companies typically do? I have heard of government officials (congressman, etc.) giving a letter for these types of accomplishments (as well as turning 100, etc.). But, I don't think I've ever heard of a company doing it for a non-employee. I'll be interested to hear the answers. Out of curiosity, about how many scouts attain an eagle rank each year?

Both of my children have achieved high level of excellence somewhere in life, but it never occurred to me that Disney would recognize it.

How about a nice celebration from the family and you could order an engraved set of ears, sweatshirt etc, for his accomplishment.

Congrats to your son.:cheer2:

Wouldn't your son want people he actually knows and who actually care about him to congratulate him, not some corporation (even if it IS Disney).

DD is working on her gold award for Girl Scouts and I think she would find it odd and pushy (like a promotion or ad campaign) if she got a letter like that from a business.

These kinds of letters are kind of a big deal at the Eagle Court ceremony. They not the same as the letters of congratulations that your grandma might send.

I think it would be Nice these kids work hard on those and a letter is nice thing to enjoy nd to encourge younger kids to work for!!

Wow, those lists are even more extensive than the ones our committee chair uses when when a scout makes Eagle. It seems odd to me that you send a letter to XYZ and they send back a form letter ofcongratulations, no matter who it is signed by. :confused3

DS is working on his Eagle- he knows plenty of guys that have already finished theirs. Doesn't take much to realize they're all getting the same note!

Congrats to your son- It is something he should be very proud of {lol I guess that's congrats from someone else he doesnt know :)}

I know I didn't receive a letter from an corporations when I made Eagle way back in 1988. Back then, we received letters from our senators, congressmen, family, etc. Congratulations to your son, it is a huge accomplishment he will always be proud of.

Congrats to him!
My husband is an Eagle Scout and when he was in college he was hired for a co-op. His boss told him it was between him and another and the fact that he got his Eagle Badge bumped him up, that co-op turned into his first job after college.

My friend's son had a letter from Disney when he made Eagle and it was my favorite of all his letters. I believe there was a signed picture of Mickey if I remember correctly.

I guess Boy Scout culture is just foreign to me:lmao: I have heard of letter from the person's state representative, congress person, the president, etc but not businesses. I guess if it makes the boys happy that is great. It still seems odd to me though--good thing I only have a Girl Scout, huh?:rotfl:

We were at Disney over Christmas and housekeeping left 4 signed pics of Mickey and Minnie in our room that say Congratulations.

OP if you'd like I could send you one. Wouldn't be from Disney specifically for him but it's close enough. We have no idea why they were left for us and it was a little wierd coming back to our room and finding them there and it didn't feel right to just throw them away.

Congrats to your son. I thought that awards like this were for personal recognition, I didn't realize that there is competition or "bragging rights" for how many corporate letters you received and who they were from. Learn something new everyday.

And honestly, I would think they would lose their meaning, given that most are signed by an auto pen and not by anyone that actually knows the kid.

50,000 boys a year become Eagle Scouts - a little insane to think that they should have to send a letter to all.

Besides Disney is very inclusive and BSA is EXCLUSIVE in their policies. If I were Disney - NO WAY would I want to be associated with something like scouting.

Why does the amount of money you spent over the years have anything to do with wanting a letter for your son?

Congrats on the Eagle Scout!!! My DS is currently working on his project. I am so proud of him.

As to the letters, our troop also does the congratulatory letters, I think it is awesome. The boys love getting the letters.

You and your son should be very proud of his accomplishments but I can't imagine looking for something like this. With the amount of kids accomplishing amazing things everyday Disney would need an entire Dept to handle. these requests.

Why in the world would Disney send you son a letter like this and what does how much money you have spent with them have any bearing on it?
