Can anyone tell me where is the good place to get old Disney movies, like "The Litlle Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast" and more on DVD's at a good price? I don't know how to do Ebay so I am looking for another place to get them.
Thanks for any help!! :flower:

Those went back in the vault so your best bet would be Ebay. If you have a second time around DVD store you may be able to find some there, or maybe a garage sale, my friend found some Disney VHSs at one last year.

ceecee,

I never heard of a second time around store. I have these movies on VHS i would like them on DVD'S.

A second time around store is one that sells used movies and/or games. We have several in our area, but I haven't been in them lately to see if they have copies of those movies. The last time I was in one was at Christmas. My oldest daughter wanted a game that was no longer available and the second hand game store had a couple in stock.

Thanks for letting me know what that was. I wish they had one of them where I live. They have a store like that for video games but I never saw them for movies. Thanks again!

I almost guarantee that you won't be able to find Beauty and the Beast (at least, a legit copy) for a reasonable price, let alone in a store! They are going on ebay for a LOT of money as the movie has been in the vault since 2003. It will be re-released in 2013. People are also selling them on amazon.com. Used starts at $25.99. New ones start at $42.70.

The Little Mermaid used starts at $26.99 on amazon and new starts at $45.50. These are the "Limited Issue" version and had almost no extras at all (I have the Peter Pan Limited Issue, it's just the movie, no extras or behind the scenes stuff).

If I were you, I'd wait on the Little Mermaid as the Platinum Edition is (rumored) to be out by October of 2006 or so.

Snow White is another you'll most likely not find. It is due out again in 2012 (I think). I've seen Snow White and B&theB go off together for over $100 on ebay!

Here is a great site if you'd like to see what movies are currently out and which are out of print.

Goodluck on the search!! :flower:

What the other posters have not explained to you is that most Disney released movies (not Pixar ones) are only in the market for 90 days. Disney is reported to pulll movies off the shelves of stores after that 90 day window - not sure if they truly do - but I know they stop producing more.

So basically what the other posters are letting you know is - if you want a Disney movie you need to buy it when it is released.

Sorry for the bad news

Like Karenalywood said Ultimatedisney.com is a good site to look at. They usually will find deals online and post them. Because of them I got Snow white through Best buy for around $30. More than you would usually pay, but are buying it from an actual store. So I didn't mind and wanted it for my collection. So sometimes the vault DVD's pop up on different sites. buy.com bestbuy.com and sometimes circuitcity.com. If you do decide to go on Ebay, I've heard of people selling fakes, especially the Little Mermaid.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Go to your local video game store like Electronics Boutique, GameStop, etc. They buy and sell used DVD's. I look for cheap Disney movies everytime I go to the mall. Alot of times they have buy two get one free promos going on.

I've bought these for less than $15 there:

- The Little Mermaid
- Beauty and the Beast
- Peter Pan
- Lion King
- Snow White
- Dumbo

and alot more. I stay away from eBay b/c there are ALOT of fake bootleg asian dvd's.

We find a lot of our stuff at flea markets, Ebay, and garage sales. Some people don't know the value of what they are selling, especially at garage sales.

Thanks everyone so much for all the info. I guess I'm on a treasure hunt now for these movies! pirate:
