disney dvd's

Hi. I'm not sure if this is where I should post this so I apologise in advance.I am searching for dvd's of "little known" (at least to those whom I 've spoken with) Disney movies. Most are the ones that are shown late in the evening on Vault Disney, such as The Horsemasters, Child of Glass,ect... My question is: Where can I find these? Are they even out on DVD? Is there a website that lists what Disney has on DVD? Thanx a lot!

I don't know of any website with that info. They are, however, starting to release some of the older titles on DVD. Tron just came out and, I believe, Watcher in the Woods is coming out in April. As for Child of Glass, a video of that (new old stock) just sold on ebay for $98.00! If you find anything out about the re-releases you are looking for, please post the info!

Wow! Am I glad to see a thread on DVDs. I spent time on Amazon and DS Online tonight looking for Beauty and the Beast on DVD. Finally, I e-mailed Disney who said it's not currently on DVD but gave me a number to call if I can't find the video. I have the video but want DVD format! I asked if there are any plans to have it on DVD, but they didn't even address that!

I believe that on one of the newer DVD's that I purchased recently, I swear there was a preview that said Beauty and the Beast special edition was coming this fall to DVD. Did anyone else hear or see this, or was I just hearing things?

Matt you are correct. At the start of Peter Pan is an preview for the release of B & B SE on DVD. All it says for a release date is Fall 2002.

The Snow White DVD released a few months ago was the first of the Disney Platinum Series. In it they indicate that the next Platinum release would be Beauty and the Beast in Fall 2002. I assumed this would be about a year from the Snow White release then.

That web site I posted states that a Special Edition Beauty and the Beast will be released on DVD, and you can leave your e-mail address for updates.
