DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

The photopass people have to be trained in the different shots, so definitely ask, but don't feel like they're shutting you down if they can't do them, or say they can't.

Good to know. :thumbsup2 So when do you know what you're doing down there??

I started this last night, and then children intervened, so lets do this again...

I love that you are going to dine at O'hanas again. It really looks like your family's happy place :) I hope I can find such a place for my family.

Rope drop, well, I understand you're not morning people, but aren't you slightly curious? The only one I feel like I really want to see at least once is the MK one, maybe that could be your thing for your next trip, make it to one rope drop :lmao: just to say you did it :rotfl2: Plus I think after I've seen it once we won't ever need to do it again :rotfl: because my husband and Jack are not morning people either. (I don't know why that was so funny, but it just was).

Your plans for day one look great, busy, ambitious, but loads of fun. If you make it to Tom Sawyer Island, I'll be anxious to read all about it, and look at tons of pictures:rolleyes1 hint hint

I love the list of pictures you plan to get, can't wait to see those. And the photopass pictures too. I can just imagine Ariana trying to take the picture:confused3 cause Jack would be the same way, but then when she see's the finished project, I can see that too. :cloud9:

Can't wait to hear about the mvmcp which I hope to one day attend. You are going to have so much fun.

I may have a slight inkling.... (although it could change at any time, depending on need)

.....you could say Mr. Morrow and I are going to become very good friends. Mr. Tom Morrow, that is.

(All I know is I'm in Attractions, I don't know the specific one yet, just the land)

Day 1 sounds great and I love your must do list, can't believe you still haven't tried a dole whip, they are just delish :)

Would be cool to see if Kathryn takes to pin trading, is a great idea to get her a starter set :)

Oh you will! Might be a restaurant, might be an attraction, might just be a bridge you can do a bongo dance over  ... but you'll find it!

Strangely enough... nope. I've avoided watching videos of opening shows, at least all the way thru anyway, on the off chance we ever get to one. But the late breakfast, late evenings works too well for us to mess with it. ;)

Oh you know I'll take tons of pictures! :rotfl: I'm planning on showing Ariana a bunch of different examples of the Baby Simba picture and I think she'll be OK. Being Disney, she might think if she puts her arms that way Simba will magically appear right then and there :wizard: ;) but like you say, when she see's the finished product, she'll love it.

Ack! I don't know where Mr. Tom Morrow is from! Is that secret-obvious code for Tomorrowland in MK?? :yay:

I think I have one in my trip report from last August.

Yep! Haha.

I found a cool thread here on the DIS, "Things I would never have done without the DIS" and trying a dole whip came up a lot. I can't believe either its taken me so long!

sounds like a full and exciting day at MK! :wizard:

Hope you like Dole Whip.. i only 'found' them about 3 trips ago (after hearing about them on a podcast!) and now couldn't imagine a trip through Adventureland without one!
Tom Sawyer Island is fun too.. I like the raft ride over there :thumbsup2

The only thing I'm not sure about... is if you can still see Tinkerbell through the keyhole in the Tink Treasure's shop... it changed a few years ago, now guests can ring a bell and 'wake up' Tink in the shop (she flies around the room and makes things sparkle!) - we saw this last December; but I'm not sure if it's changed again since the Fantasyland expansion plans began? :confused3

I can't wait to try a Dole Whip. Hopefully I love it with all the darn build up to it. :rotfl2: You know, I'd forgotten about the raft ride to TSI. That'll be half the fun for Ariana and Demetri!

I'd read how waking up Tinkerbell had changed and that you no longer needed to be the first person in the shop in the morning to do it.... (that seems so much more logical to me, I can just imagine a stampede of parents with little kids trying to be the first to the shop!) .... but I'm really hoping the keyhole thing is still there. That would just be really cool to see. Now I can't wait to see Tink flying around the shop too! Thanks!

I'm catching up since I've been gone a week because of my teaching exam!!

Those plans on Day 1 sound great!! You will love love love MVMCP!! My dad said that he would never go to WDW around Xmas time and now this is the only time he says that he will go! haha.

We ALWAYS ride Jungle Cruise at night! I would suggest for the party to go to the 2nd parade if you are able to stay up for it and ride popular rides/special party event stuff during the first parade but get there in time for a good spot for the fireworks. We've always got a good spot 1/2 hour before..sometimes even 15 mins before. Going on a Sunday gives you a better advantage because the "locals" would tend to go on a Fri or Sat night! Even though it's just after Thanksgiving, it might be more crowded than if you waited a week or so but it still won't be as bad as waiting till Xmas time!

Just found your PTR and I love it!
This is our first trip to WDW with our little girls!!!!
We are going almost the same time you are!
I love reading your PTR and learning some first timer tips ;)

BTW, what is a "rope drop"

Check out this page for the special poses. I love the PhotoPass. We used in in 2007, and I plan on abusing it on our upcoming trip.

:welcome: Thanks for hopping over! I'm hoping to abuse it too! Thanks for posting that link. I have all that info in my planning book (about to become my planning binder, not sure why I thought I could get away with a spiral notebook ) and that's where I got my maps too. :thumbsup2

Welcome back! How'd you do? I'm VERY excited for MVMCP  that'll be my next update!

I love how rides can be so different at night. We prefer Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at night too. Twisting and turning, seemingly going on and on, fun fun fun fun fun!

I'm hoping the crowds aren't too bad. Sounds like it could go either way. Maybe people will be shying away from that night because they think it'll be crowded. Cross your fingers! :wizard::laughing:

:welcome: Your first trip?:yay::cheer2::cool1: What are your dates? Where are you staying? What a great time of year to be your first time!! :santa:

I'd never heard of a rope drop either until the DIS. It's when you get to the parks before they open and then wait for the proverbial rope to drop to let you in. Each park has a welcome show they put on for those first guests behind the rope. I've never seen any of them due to the aforementioned laziness of my family (myself included! :rolleyes1) but from all the descriptions I've heard, Magic Kingdom has the best one. If you can make it there, definately a must see!

Right now I have my stuff in an Excel spreadsheet which is quickly growing out of control. I do have my customized maps, but I didn't use them the last time, and will leave them at home this time. They make a great souvenir.

Good morning DISfriends :goodvibes I'll be putting my MVMCP day update on soon but I just wanted to celebrate how my ticker has dropped from four months to three months! Seems closer somehow!

:jumping1: :cool1::santa::banana::dance3::banana::santa: :cool1: :jumping1:
