I will be jumping around a little so bare with me. The B2B process goes like this, at 9:30am, you disembark go thru Customs, but you do not have to go thru security. You recheck in for your next cruise which went real fast, you will get new room keys even if you have the same room. They let us back on around 11:00 give or take 10 minutes. You board thru the closed off area used for Conceirge, you do not need to have pictures taken this time.
Now if you have the same room, they are subposed to clean your room so you have access to your room soon as you reboard, out of 4 rooms 2 were ready and 2 were not. One of our party had to change rooms, if so it is easiest to have Disney just move your bags. We had to wait till 1:30 to get into 2 of the rooms just like everyone else, but this may not be the norm.
We did board before any1 else, even before Conceirge or Platinum cruisers.
Alot of the ship is not accessable to you till after 12:30/1:00. We went to Cove Cafe and had coffee and snacks till Cabanas opened for lunch. We were among the first to eat at Cabanas that day. so in effect you kind of loose atleast part of the reboarding day. Note do not take pictures of the security area like I did because no one was there, they don't like it.
We did do the normal breakfast time before we disembarked, it was nice to watch people leave carrying all those bags and we just waved good bye.
Thats the process in a nutshell.
Ok now eating on the Disney Dream, and man will you here alot about this, but you can take my opinion to heart. We had dinner at Palo's on both the 3 day and the 4 day cruise, great as always. The new Palo's is a bit more formal looking then on the Magic or Wonder probably because Remy's is next door. Great meal, great service, we highly recommend Julia at Palo's she is excellent. But if dinner isn't your thing on the 4 day cruise make time to do Palo's Brunch the food is the best on the ship in my opinion and we would do it everyday if we could. Dinner time for Palo's ranged from 2 1/2 hrs to 3 1/2 hrs. We were told by atleast 5 family's Remy's ranged from 2 1/2 hrs to 5 hrs.
The most fun meal is Animator's Palete, the video technology in the room is beyond fantastic, we could not get any Cast Member to tell us if Crush was 100% A-I. The food again was very very good, the excitement in the room was off the chart, we had a blast with Crush. Crush became the next family member, and Bruce the shark was a favorite.
We had a few special food requirements and Richard and Mario[head servers] did a great job handling all our needs, all you need to do is talk to them and they did the rest. Disney has a kitchen just for special food needs.
We saw the chief more on this cruise then all of our other 9 cruises combined. These guys can do more then just cook.....
Cabanas is a breath of fresh air and it is a shame to call it a buffet. The station idea works great and is much faster then a normal buffet. You may have issues with people not understanding that there is not a line, you just go to the station where there is food you want. Grab and Go.......Be prepared to walk it is big, big, big....
Food quality outstanding, food choices outstanding, being seated great, drink choices excellent, space more then enough for everyone, view off the back of the Dream priceless.
All 3 meals are normally served here except boarding day, no dinner here...
Outside is Flo's for a fast counterservice, pizza, chicken, hamburgers, Fruit, icecream etc. At times this area was busy, but with 4,000 people on a sea day we all expected it. Food was good as can be expected at a fast food area.
Ok more to come, watch for part 3.
